I found the best mass builder for back is heavy barbell rows, go for sets of 8. As soon as you can do 8 easily add 10 pounds to each side. Here’s pictures of my back 10 months apart when I started really going heavy on barbell rows.

mans a walking dorito god dayum you do these bent over in the squat rack? I have a hip/abdomen injury so can't do stuff where I'm bent at the waist unless I'm supported, any suggestions on how I can make it work?

Constant change Homeostasis is your enemy Change your grip (wide, narrow; under hand, over hand, parallel) your cadence, your reps, et Make sure you’re doing heavy rows, same logic as above: over, under, wide, narrow, t bar grip Straight arm push downs…same ad above…over hand, under hand, wide, arrow, use a rope, et.

would I do the pushdowns standing at the cable machine I have in this vid, or are they better seated? haven't ever done those before so suspect that'd be a really big difference maker for me

You’re probably doing a lot of the right things, it’s just keeping up consistency and bulking. One small form thing I noticed is try doing your pull up’s with your chin up (not looking down) and pull your chest towards the bar focusing on the squeeze and the controlled motion.

yeah I could def have my chin higher for these, will give that a go next time - cheers!

Asked my friend who has HUGE shoulders and back and this is what they said! Hope this helps!

Wider grip on the pull-ups and lat pull-down. Focus and controlled/slowed movement as opposed to swinging. Row row row. Single arm DB rows is my favorite and work your way to doing heavy!!! One last thing maybe start doing rack pulls as well. 👌🏾💪🏾

Lat pull-downs and closed grip lat pull downs

isn't a lat pulldown doing the same thing that a pullup does?
