Nothing bothers me more than people changing their name's pronunciation, or name altogether, to make it easier for other people to say. If they want a response, they'll learn to say it correctly.

@PercyMavisx I’m with the interviewer. Make people pronounce your name correctly. But on the flip side, take into account the American accent when requesting this. Just like my name is very simple/common, but when I speak with people from different countries they pronounce it differently.

I knew how to pronounce it. Pronouncing people’s names correctly has always been important to me. That’s your identity. Nothing grinds my grits more than when I tell someone my name and they immediately say “I’ll just call you Z.” No the hell you won’t.

I agree with the interviewer. We've been seeing actors with "weird" names starting to make people pronounce them correctly. Manny Jacinto is no longer pronouncing his surname with a hard J. Zoe Saldaña is using the tilde in her name again. Let Gabourey Sidibe hear her RIGHT name.
