Have you ever seen a water stick insect? It’s an aquatic predatory bug; basically a praying mantis that lives underwater. This species is the only one found in the UK: the Eurasian Water Stick Insect (Ranatra linearis).

🦗 A giant insect has been discovered in Australia. It doesn’t look that great The stick insect Acrophylla alta surpasses the previous record-holder — the giant burrowing cockroach 🪳 in weight. The stick insect weighs 44 grams and grows up to 40 centimeters in length. The new species was hiding in the treetops of the mountainous region in northeastern Queensland.
