Why isn’t it handled the ball, if that’s not a silly question?

In terms ‘spirit of the game’ I’m not sure I’m comfortable with this decision. He was not going to be caught and the ball would not have hit the stumps.

To be fair while the ball was still in action I don’t think he should have handled it. I’d still as opposition captain probably give a warning, but when helping to give the ball back to the oppo should never appeal IMO

He’s not obstructing the field if the fielders aren’t making any attempt to field the ball. He’s out because he handled the ball which is completely different. Watch the movement of the hand and watch the fielders. Where’s the obstruction? No attempt to go for the ball.

Technically he was out, but oppo captain should’ve withdrawn the appeal in spirit of cricket. This ball was not travelling towards stumps & he was not in danger of getting out. Just a lapse of judgement, should’ve been given a warning instead
