Slavery in the Bible isn’t the same as Chattel Slavery. In the Bible slavery was based on P.O.W, debt, criminals and willing participants. Kidnapping was punishable by death(Ex 21:16). Chattel slavery was based on race and kidnapping.

The problem is @ThePapaGut Who decides what is good: the individual, society, the powerful, or God? If society says murder is good, the powerful can stop it. If the powerful say murder is good, neither society nor the individual can stop them. If the individual says murder is good, the group/tribe or society stops that person. So every human standard gets checked by someone else, except the powerful. Who checks them? There’s a standard above every person, society, and ruler. That is God.
