The reason Ruben Amorin needed “legs or ground eater” was because he never believed in players playing close to one another and keeping the ball for a long time. We often launched the ball to our strikers to beat press, he did the same at Sporting CP with Gyokeres and that caused our team needing to run so much because when we lose the second ball, we were in trouble.. It’s more about athleticism to him than techniques.. He never wanted players that are comfortable on the ball instead he likes players that can pick long passes so they can move the ball as quickly forward as possible and that’s why he never rated Mainoo.. Now Carrick has a different approach to football which is for players to play close to one another, take regulated and calculated risk instead of throwing the ball in the air at every chance which limits his need for “ground eaters” and increases his needs for actual ballers, guys that are comfortable on the ball and know how to pass it at the same time.

These 3 balls were bowled by 2 different bowlers at almost the same place. 1st ball – Sachin was going for the sweep but in the end he opened the face of the bat and what was the timing that the ball went so fast to the boundary. 2nd ball – Sachin played the sweep on the same ball. 3rd ball – Sachin thought of playing the sweep but he had enough time to move his body and play the cut shot.

In FIFA and IFAB Laws of the Game, deliberate play is when a player has control of the ball and attempts to pass, gain possession, or clear it. *‘Deliberate play’ (excluding deliberate handball) is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of: •passing the ball to a team-mate; •gaining possession of the ball; or •clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it) ➡️clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it) And that’s what Viega did. Thoughts on the final play: 1. Alijah Martin and Will Richard were elite on this play. Great ball pressure and made Uzan/Cryer catch the ball way deeper than they wanted. 2. Sharp was open. Clayton got caught sleeping. He was ready for the pass but Cryer couldn't get it there quick enough bc of Richard's length 3. Great recovery from Clayton to contest. Sharp did have time to shot fake and take a dribble. But I don' think he saw Clayton until he had already started to elevate for the shot
