he explained this so perfectly

@mbonfiglio2000 @RexChapman You did an amazing job. I couldn't believe a clip that was so short, resonated so deeply.

This is so true. Reminds me of Tonkin’s model of grief, also very succinct. We never shrink grief. But we can continue to grow.

I feel the same after losing my younger brother two years ago. I’m broken forever. No one on the planet wants to hear me talk about it, so I suffer silently. I made pancakes for him when I was 12 and he was 11. We got up early and watched Scooby-Doo. I’m going to die grieving him.

I was told, 10 years ago, that "You'll never get over it - you'll just learn how to carry it." And I'm forever grateful for that wisdom. ❤️

The only thing I would want others to know is it doesn’t need to stay at 50/50 happy/sad indefinitely. You are not dishonoring their memory by gradually increasing the happiness number. They would want you to move on in your grief knowing you will never forget them.

That's the way I honor my mother. It crushed me emotionally (I watched her take her last breath) but it also created a fire in me to make sure everyone knows of her by the time I die. That pain never goes away.

I have felt the same way since my brother died. I've described it as perhaps what it would feel like to sustain a permanent injury. Certainly you learn to adapt, but you are always aware of the change and things are never the same...

My dad lost his brother a couple of days ago. Today would have been his 93rd bday. My dad said 'all my history goes with him'...I know this is going to powerfully resonate with him.😢

This exactly. You learn to live with it but you never get over it.
