SCHOOL RENOVATION/ ESTABLISHMENT OF SECONDARY SCHOOL SECTION I carried out an inspection visit to ODIA PRIMARY SCHOOL (EVBODIA) in Iyekogba, Edo State to assess the ongoing renovation and construction works. This project covers the renovation of two blocks of 12 classrooms, the construction of an additional block of 6 classrooms, the building of a perimeter fence, as well as the installation of a borehole and toilet facilities. I am impressed with the work done so far, and it is evident that the project is near completion. Also with the help of the Edo State Ministry of Education, my formal request for the inclusion of a secondary school section in the school was approved. With this development, the school has now been upgraded to host a Junior Secondary section, making it the FIRST SECONDARY SCHOOL within the entire district of over 40 communities. Hence the school will now be known as ODIA PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL. I sincerely appreciate the State Ministry of Education and the Commissioner of Education for the timely approval. This is a great step forward for Iyekogba and the surrounding communities, and this further strengthens our commitment to improving access to quality education and modern infrastructure for all our children in Oredo. Good morning, let me bring something to your attention. This is Mwenge Primary School in Kwale (see the signpost in the reply). The school has over 300 pupils. Yes, there’s an NGCDF block, but because of the big numbers, many kids still study in mud-walled classrooms. On top of that, they face serious water challenges. I’ll share a photo of where they fetch water. When it rains, it becomes a mess. When it’s dry, water is a nightmare. Standing there, you honestly feel like you’re not even in Kenya.

I met with the Heads of Nursery and Primary Schools across Agege to review progress and strengthen our shared commitment to quality education. So far, we have renovated 17 schools, established 5 school libraries, and delivered essential learning tools, including 1,800 twin desks, 400 ECC furniture, 72 teacher furniture, and 92 marker boards. We are also in the process of procuring 75 computers to expand digital learning. Beyond infrastructure, we are investing in people and safety, with the recruitment of 50 primary school teachers and school support staff, deployment of security personnel, and ongoing plans to install CCTV systems in schools. We’ve also improved learning environments with 2 seven-aside pitches and connected 5 school compounds to the power grid. Following my conversation with H.E President William Samoei Ruto, PhD and the deliberations we had on the utilization of land at VOK, Bombolulu Nyali Constituency, it is heartwarming to hear H.E President William Ruto's plan for the establishment of affordable housing project at VOK alongside the implementation of a big, modern Market for the women of Nyali to continue to grow their businesses. Equally satisfying is the realization of our persistent efforts for land justice as the issue is now getting the recognition it Deserves particularly at Kwa Bullo, Nyali Constituency. Together with H.E President William Ruto, our pledge to tackle the land issue is coming to Fruition and Nyali is reaping BIG with the various projects we have in plan. As He posits, “We will Solve the Land Questions because We now Have the Land Solutions”. In partnership with eight universities, we launched the construction of three quality pre-primary schools in Buno Bedele Zone of Oromia Region, with an investment of ETB 43.5 million through the Summer Volunteer Service Program. We also planted seedlings and delivered educational materials for 1,000 students. These are more than school buildings. They are investments in our children, their learning, and the future they will shape. Once completed, these schools will provide young children with a strong foundation on which to build their lives. We extend our sincere gratitude to the people and administration of Buno Bedele for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. The transformation underway in pre-primary education is fundamental to improving the quality of our entire education system. Imagine the change if every child through out Ethiopia gets such opportunity, & it is possible if we work hard and prioritise. In the last five years, more than 34,000 have been built. CPC has been trending after it was revealed that the school allegedly traps children by signing up a contract valid for more than 8 years. The children work for the school by producing content. It is alleged that both the Department of Education and Malusi have confirmed that the school is not accredited after it lost its accreditation in 2024.

Edullect Academy independent school is a "Muslim" school, which has just opened with a full time nursery and primary school in Havering. It appears to be a fee-paying faith school seeking state support, yet it has not been fully assessed against the required standards. Any state-funded school must promote Fundamental British Value democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and faith schools are generally expected to admit some non-faith pupils when oversubscribed. The real test will be the next Ofsted report. Expect more schools like this to emerge.

On May 11, the 2026 World Digital Education Conference opened in Hangzhou. As part of the program, international guests visited Hangzhou Chunhui Primary School, where AI is being integrated into everyday education from smart classrooms and teacher development to zero-waste campus practices and intangible cultural heritage workshops. Prof. Luis Manuel Sánchez Ruiz, IFEES President, and Dr Eng. Awni Al-Khasawneh, Secretary General of the Arab Union for Astronomy & Space Science, shared that they were deeply impressed by what they saw.
