This Is Our Britain (Not Theirs) What happened to the country I knew? Where men stood tall, and hearts were true. We built this land with graft and pride, Now we’re just told to step aside. We send our lads to foreign land, To die for lies they don’t understand. They come home scarred or not at all And strangers move in, take it all. They cross the sea, no war, no fight, Just phones in hand, all young, all alright. No kids, no wives, no honest plea, Just straight into hotels, on you and me. They get fed well, they sleep in heat, While Brits go hungry on the street. Pensioners freeze in their own home, Veterans shiver, drink, and roam. We don’t hate, we’ve just had enough, Of being told to “shut up,” “tough.” We see the crime, the gangs, the pain, But truth gets buried again and again. Our leaders smile, count their pay, Lie through teeth day after day. From green new dreams to woke ideals, They don’t care how the real world feels. They mock the past, erase the names Of men who played no glory games Just did their duty, strong and proud, Now left forgotten in the crowd. This land is farms, and trees, and rain, It’s hills, its mud, it’s honest strain. It’s mums and dads who work all week, To feed their kids and make ends meet. It’s blokes who fix, protect, defend, It’s knowing where and when to bend And when to stand and not retreat, To say “enough” and not repeat. We welcomed guests who came to stay, Who loved this land the British way. But this? This flood, this free for all It’s not our way, and not our call. This isn’t hate it’s love for home. For village greens and seaside foam. For poppies worn, for truths we keep, For those who lie in graves too deep. So don’t call me names I see your game. You sold us out. You’ve got no shame. But we remember who we are This island’s fire, that northern star. And we’re not done, not yet, not quite We still believe in wrong and right. This is our Britain and its not for sale. We will stand, we will fight, we will not fail.

There is stone slab set into the pavement in Covent Garden that reads “ We gave our today so you could have your tomorrow”. It is a plaque dedicated to the memory of the men and women who lost thier lives in WWII. This is not the “tomorrow” they envisioned.
