Heartbreaking💔 A wild elephant in Karnataka is seen scavenging through plastic waste for food in MM Hills. Imagine surviving on garbage because humans have turned your habitat into a dumping yard. The tragedy isn't the elephant. The tragedy is what we've done to its home.

Why blame government always . As responsible citizens lets get our own reusable bags for groc and veg on a daily basis for starters . the use of single use thin plastic bags will reduce soon .

More tourism, more reckless humans, more deforestation, more consumption, plastic, lack of empathy for other species, and a tragedy for all other species except us.

The tragedy is not only what Israel is doing. The tragedy is that it is done in the name of Judaism. Judaism teaches humility and compassion. Zionism turned a holy promise into a nationalist state. Zionism is not Judaism.

Lakhs of devotees descended on Male Mahadeshwara Hills for Shivaratri, screamed ‘Jai Mahadeshwara’, threw their plastic plates, bottles, cups, wrappers and leftover food like garbage doesn’t exist. Now a wild elephant, starving, confused, just following the stench of your trash walks into the mess you created. And what do the authorities do? Shoot at it, fire crackers, scare it away like it’s the criminal here. YOU polluted the sacred forest. YOU invited the elephant with your filth. YOU turned devotion into environmental violence. And you temple authorities? Useless. Zero bins that matter, zero enforcement of the so-called plastic ban, zero spine to stop the crowds from treating the hills like a dumping ground year after year. This is not bhakti. This is hypocrisy wrapped in saffron. This is animal cruelty by proxy. This is desecration of Mahadeshwara’s own land. Stop pretending you’re pious while you poison elephants and forests. Clean your damn mess before another animal pays for your carelessness.

Things turned deadly when this elephant reached her breaking point 😔💔 Tyke’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the horrors animals still face in circuses today.

First the cows were eating from the trash, then we saw the monkey's, then we saw the wild deers eating from plastic trash in Gujarat, Chennai and Dehradun and now — this wild bear scavenging through garbage in Kanker City, Chattisgarh, India. Today, our quiet girls were having a pool party! Akina is a reserved elephant by nature, but the mud bath is her time to shine. She loves water and she loves to show off in it. In fact, we often find her loitering around the pool, just waiting for the other orphans to vacate so she can have it all to herself. As the herd headed into the bush this afternoon, Akina noticed Rokka lagging behind in the water. She about-turned to join her friend, and the two girls enjoyed a splashy show-off session. The Keepers enjoyed the spectacle! Every elephant seen here is an orphan. While each suffered a unique tragedy, they found a family with us – one that will continue to love and support them through their lives. Meet the herd:

Reporter: The elephant in the room tonight, or lack thereof— El-Sayed: No, the elephant was not in the room. The elephant decided that they did not want to be in the room. The elephant cowarded out. Although the elephants were all in the room in Dallas. It’s wild to me that this guy is more interested in going to speak for, what, six minutes and 48 seconds in Dallas than he is to have 60 minutes with Michiganders here in Detroit. But it tells you who he is. He’s a coward. So if I were him, I wouldn’t debate me either. Reporter: So did you buy his excuse for not wanting to be here? El-Sayed: What was his excuse? He’s in Florida?

Imagine a world without elephants. Imagine forests without them. They would never be as rich, resilient and alive as they are when elephants roam through them as ecosystem engineers ! India is so lucky to have elephants. The latest Wildlife Institute of India DNA-based assessment estimates 22,446 wild elephants in India, meaning India is home to roughly half of the world’s remaining wild Asian elephants. Within India, the Western Ghats are the great elephant stronghold. Karnataka (6,013), Tamil Nadu (3,136) and Kerala (2,785) together have 11,934 elephants, more than 53% of India’s entire estimated population. Tamil Nadu has the third-highest elephant population in the country, after Karnataka and Assam. India’s top five elephant states are: Karnataka 6,013 | Assam 4,159 | Tamil Nadu 3,136 | Kerala 2,785 | Uttarakhand 1,792. Together they account for nearly 80% of India’s elephants. This #WorldElephantDay, we must resolve to do everything we can to conserve elephants #worldElephantDay2026 #elephants #elephantday Brilliant capture Pravin Shanmughanandam

Yes, believe it or not it’s real. That elephant is Bhogeshwara, a famous wild Asian elephant from the Kabini backwaters area in Karnataka, India. He was well-known for having some of the longest tusks ever recorded on an Asian elephant, roughly 2.5 meters (about 8 feet) long, curved and nearly touching the ground. That’s extremely rare for Asian elephants. He almost looks like a mammoth. He was a gentle, solitary bull often seen by tourists and photographers near the backwaters. He died of natural causes in June 2022 at around 70 years old.
