We've never seen this before because it was man-made or at very least man-influenced weather manipulation. Since when does a hurricane do MORE damage inland than it does when it makes landfall? Never.

I haven't heard from my people in WNC since Wednesday. I grew up in that area, now in CO. Moving back in October to help my Dad recover his 2 properties - fuck man, I have a Star Link Mini here, and a portable solar generator. I'm 1500 miles away and can't help

Unfortunately it wouldn’t matter if you were 50 miles away, you still wouldn’t be able to help. Nobody has anyway of communicating and there are still a ton of people stranded/isolated due to water and downed trees.
