This equipment allows our defenders to build safer fortifications and stay mobile during these tough times. Our welder, mechanic, and just a great guy, Tolik, is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Our fundraiser for engineering equipment for FPV protection has slowed down, but we’ve reached 34%, 40,000$ so far, with $80,000 left to raise. We are buying them for 20k-30k repairing for 10k and with logistics average cost of the 7 ton excavator is around 30-40k USD. This is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of the new machine, and after the repairs it's ready to work for another 3-4 years. Now, why are these machines so important? Whatever video of the Ukrainian command center, drone pilot position, infantry position or an artillery position you see in the news, it's always buried underground. Ukraine has severe engineering equipment shortages to build the fortifications. On top of that, centralized engineering units often build something that isn't as functional as needed. I've started this private fundraiser to support our Kharkiv team, but it's not moving too well. We have only raised $1,000 out of our $12,000 goal. We have a small team in #Kharkiv that operates a warehouse, a repair workshop for engineering equipment, a machining shop for making parts, and a welding station for making anti-drone protective cages. My brother, vaycartana, has been running it for more than 20 years. My brother-in-law, Danya, was helping produce the anti-drone metal cages; however, he was mobilized to the National Guard 3 weeks ago, so we are now short one worker. Additionally, our main welder, my good friend Tolya, recently cut his arm tendon while using an angle grinder tool and is now recovering. They are working 12-hour shifts under tremendous stress and daily bombardments, repairing excavators, welding cages, and producing parts for our defenders. As you can see, the conditions are really harsh. The roof is leaking, the floors are rough, and daily bombings and a lack of personnel keep them struggling. The least I could do is run a fundraiser to fix and insulate their roof and install concrete, safe floors that can handle the excavators, to keep them warm and safe, especially during the winter. Their work saves millions of dollars of equipment and countless lives of Ukrainian defenders. The warehouse logistics they provide have always been free. After delivering multiple excavators to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and speaking with engineering units, I concluded that we need a more holistic approach. Specifically, to help build fortifications for motivated units, we need to provide both transport and unloading equipment to offer a complete solution instead of just a simple digger. While an excavator alone is important and solves many issues, pairing it with a truck equipped with a manipulator arm can be a force multiplier. This combination can not only deliver the excavator itself but also quickly unload fortification materials such as logs, concrete structures, and metal brackets. So, my goal now is not just to deliver excavators but to provide a complete solution: 🚛 A truck 🏗️ A manipulator arm 🚜 An excavator We currently have 4 excavators in the delivery pipeline, so what we need to do is add a truck with a crane (manipulator arm). In this video, you can see a Krab SPG hideout after more than 30 FPV drone strikes. Although damaged, it was sent for repairs and will soon be back in service. My dear friends and followers, I have an important and somewhat unusual fundraiser to announce. It's very important, and I am asking for your help to spread the word and donate. Please read a small interview from Ukrainian commanders and the details below. The donation link is in the end. After consulting with my friends from the Ukrainian 92nd Assault, 26th, and 47th Artillery Brigades, I have decided to shift my fundraising goals toward engineering equipment, specifically excavators. Why are small excavators so important for the infantry? I spoke with an infantry battalion commander from one of the assault brigades to better understand this. Please read quotes from him: ▶️ "Our brigade has one or two PZM2 trenchers, and they are always either broken or in use. We lack the manpower to build proper fortifications, and the infantry often ends up not digging deep and long enough trenches because they are exhausted from endless combat and shelling. I can't afford to have them in a trench for six days and then digging another trench for six more days; they need to rest." ▶️ I asked if they would be able to dig the fortifications when enemy FPVs fly by: "Now is the perfect time for that, because of the greenery, we can relatively safely build trenches inside the treelines 2-5 km away from the frontline. If we have a small 2-8 ton excavator, it can discreetly operate inside the treeline without breaking all the trees. It’s mobile and easy to use. Yes, we will have a risk of delivering it quickly enough to the treeline and back, but I'd rather risk it driving in the open for 15 minutes than having my infantry stuck in knee-deep trenches without proper ceiling layering with three layers of logs." ▶️ "They save the lives of our infantry. If you carefully examine the latest videos, you can see that the only thing between the infantry and the enemy FPV is the fortifications." ▶️ "No, we won’t use the excavator on the front line; we will use them to build fallback positions, positions for drone operators, and for the command posts." So I've spoken about the infantry, but why does artillery need them? To better understand this, I spoke with one of the artillery brigade commander's deputies. Please read his comments: ▶️ "Let’s not start the blame game; it’s just the reality. We only have one excavator based on a Kraz for digging, and it’s always under repairs or maintenance." ▶️"Remember how many videos there were of our machines struck by lancets? Well, you see less now. We are taking measures, and those measures work. With properly built fortifications, it’s only a direct hit from a 152mm shell or a missile that can destroy the howitzer." "With excavators, we hide our equipment deep, we build separate ammo storage, and we build a bunker for the crew." ▶️"How long do you think it takes to dig a fortification to conceal a Krab with shovels? At least two weeks, and while the crew is building it, it can’t operate. If you think that’s not enough reason, I will give you another one: we had crew members injuring themselves while digging, breaking bones, two people got injured at the same time. This affected howitzer operations; you can’t properly operate it if you have two people missing." ▶️"With an excavator that you gave us, it takes us only two days and requires three times fewer people to build a Krab shelter, two ammo storages, and a bunker for the crew." As you can see, the engineering equipment is highly needed, so this month I want to set an ambitious goal to acquire three excavators, get funds for repairs, and build protective cages for Bohdana howitzers against FPVs. We already have two 5-ton excavators waiting to be repaired in Kharkiv, so our total goal is below: ✅ 3 x 5-ton Yanmar Vio50/55 excavators: $90,000 ✅ Repair parts for 5 mini excavators, 4 Yanmar and 1 Hyundai: $20,000 ✅ Repair parts and services for a 55-ton crane to support burning shipping containers for command posts for the 59th Brigade: $11,000 ✅Protective cages for Bohdana howitzers: $24,000 We are setting up a repair and maintenance shop in Kharkiv right now, and your aid is very much needed. Yesterday, I launched a new fundraiser to send two more excavators to Ukraine. Unfortunately, due to declining interest in the topic, the fundraiser didn’t go quite as planned, but we still raised $16,000 (our usual goal for the first day is 20% of the total or 24k). So overall, we did well. Today, I want to show you the work of our repair shop in Kharkiv. This excavator was purchased for $18,000, even though its market value is around $60,000. It does need repairs, but thankfully, vaycartana, our lead technician, knows exactly what he’s doing. The machine should be up and running in two weeks. We’re doing everything we can to save money and deliver more for less. But none of this is possible without your support. Please repost, like, and comment. It really helps. My top priority in supporting Ukraine has always been saving the lives of our soldiers. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Liberty Ukraine Foundation 🇺🇸🇺🇦 for their unwavering support in protecting our artillery servicemen and equipment from the 26th Artillery Brigade. ☑️ We delivered a $50,000 excavator that has been tirelessly working day and night, building fortifications for our soldiers and howitzers. ☑️ We added protective cages to the Krab howitzers to safeguard both the crews and the equipment from drone strikes. Thanks to these combined efforts, one battalion of the 26th Brigade has been able to operate without losses for over six months. Our work isn't just about making small contributions. We’re investing in heavy machinery for engineering units, maintaining and repairing it to minimize costs and maximize impact. Thursday, the 28th November is Thanksgiving day in the U S A. Families will come together and celebrate the harvest and all the blessings of the year. It's also the time of year when people donate to charity and we wonder if any of our friends will remember the work that Ernestos does for the animals in war torn Syria? We have just had one of our worst months for fundraising, with the lowest donations we have seen for a long time. A little gift from our supporters means everything to our animals and to the lives of the 100s of animals we treat and help every day of the year. We want to continue to be there for them. To help as we have helped for the past 9 years. But first, we must make it through the winter months. Will you help us? We need fuel, we need food,we need medicines. But most of all, we need your kindness and your belief in what we do.
