I've started this private fundraiser to support our Kharkiv team, but it's not moving too well. We have only raised $1,000 out of our $12,000 goal. Please watch the video to understand the conditions these fellas are facing and donate if you can (donation link at the end). Now... let me explain why it's important. We have a small team in #Kharkiv that operates a warehouse, a repair workshop for engineering equipment, a machining shop for making parts, and a welding station for making anti-drone protective cages. My brother, vaycartana, has been running it for more than 20 years. My brother-in-law, Danya, was helping produce the anti-drone metal cages; however, he was mobilized to the National Guard 3 weeks ago, so we are now short one worker. Additionally, our main welder, my good friend Tolya, recently cut his arm tendon while using an angle grinder tool and is now recovering. They are working 12-hour shifts under tremendous stress and daily bombardments, repairing excavators, welding cages, and producing parts for our defenders. As you can see, the conditions are really harsh. The roof is leaking, the floors are rough, and daily bombings and a lack of personnel keep them struggling. The least I could do is run a fundraiser to fix and insulate their roof and install concrete, safe floors that can handle the excavators, to keep them warm and safe, especially during the winter. Their work saves millions of dollars of equipment and countless lives of Ukrainian defenders. The warehouse logistics they provide have always been free. Hello, our shop in Kharkiv is working non-stop to deliver the engineering equipment. We are some of our best to make sure Ukrainian units have means to build fortifications and shelters. I am asking for your help by donating or sharing, liking and commenting on this post. New equipment such as this costs 140,000$ per machine. We are buying them for 20k-30k repairing for 10k and with logistics average cost of the 7 ton excavator is around 30-40k USD. This is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of the new machine, and after the repairs it's ready to work for another 3-4 years. Now, why are these machines so important? Whatever video of the Ukrainian command center, drone pilot position, infantry position or an artillery position you see in the news, it's always buried underground. Ukraine has severe engineering equipment shortages to build the fortifications. On top of that, centralized engineering units often build something that isn't as functional as needed. Many people don't really understand the size of the equipment Ukraine operates and why excavators are critical and what I am asking for your help with donating and sharing this message (donation link in the end) Here is an example of a PzH 2000 that was sent to me by a friend from a brigade we are helping with excavators. You can see the dugout that an excavator has built for it, and you can compare a person's size to the size of the machine to understand the labor that goes into saving these machines. Even with an excavator, it still takes days to construct. It's impossible to dig a position for it with a shovel. We are stuck at 50%, and my post seems to be supressed by X. These machines save lives and I can't explain well enough how important they are. My dear friends and followers, I have an important and somewhat unusual fundraiser to announce. It's very important, and I am asking for your help to spread the word and donate. Please read a small interview from Ukrainian commanders and the details below. The donation link is in the end. After consulting with my friends from the Ukrainian 92nd Assault, 26th, and 47th Artillery Brigades, I have decided to shift my fundraising goals toward engineering equipment, specifically excavators. Why are small excavators so important for the infantry? I spoke with an infantry battalion commander from one of the assault brigades to better understand this. Please read quotes from him: ▶️ "Our brigade has one or two PZM2 trenchers, and they are always either broken or in use. We lack the manpower to build proper fortifications, and the infantry often ends up not digging deep and long enough trenches because they are exhausted from endless combat and shelling. I can't afford to have them in a trench for six days and then digging another trench for six more days; they need to rest." ▶️ I asked if they would be able to dig the fortifications when enemy FPVs fly by: "Now is the perfect time for that, because of the greenery, we can relatively safely build trenches inside the treelines 2-5 km away from the frontline. If we have a small 2-8 ton excavator, it can discreetly operate inside the treeline without breaking all the trees. It’s mobile and easy to use. Yes, we will have a risk of delivering it quickly enough to the treeline and back, but I'd rather risk it driving in the open for 15 minutes than having my infantry stuck in knee-deep trenches without proper ceiling layering with three layers of logs." ▶️ "They save the lives of our infantry. Yesterday, I launched a new fundraiser to send two more excavators to Ukraine. Unfortunately, due to declining interest in the topic, the fundraiser didn’t go quite as planned, but we still raised $16,000 (our usual goal for the first day is 20% of the total or 24k). So overall, we did well. Today, I want to show you the work of our repair shop in Kharkiv. This excavator was purchased for $18,000, even though its market value is around $60,000. It does need repairs, but thankfully, vaycartana, our lead technician, knows exactly what he’s doing. The machine should be up and running in two weeks. One of the battalions from the 92nd Brigade urgently needs a manipulator crane truck and an excavator. They’re currently facing major challenges in excavating unexploded Russian bombs—right now, they are doing it by hand and loading them onto pickup trucks. Hello everyone, Last month, I launched a fundraiser to provide engineering equipment for Ukraine, but due to low donations, I had to pause and reassess. Today, I’m relaunching the fundraiser and want to share an example of the impact of the machines we provide. Please share and donate (link at the end). 🎯13,000$/120,000$ This video showcases a PzH 2000 howitzer with crew quarters, built using an excavator we supplied to the 43rd Artillery Brigade a year ago. The video highlights the size of the position—it’s massive—and with the excavator, it takes just one day to dig. Without it, the same task would require 2–3 weeks and eight people. These machines are often overlooked, and their importance is underestimated because they aren’t considered "new tech." I know this work may seem mundane and unexciting, but it’s what saves Ukrainian lives and protects equipment worth tens of millions of dollars. The team had a great meeting with the Mayor of Kharkiv today. We discussed our mission in Kharkiv, US veterans working together with Ukrainian veterans for a mine free Ukraine and Kharkiv. Also learned how connected the Mayor is with Dallas and found out something new. Kharkiv is the sister city of Dallas, TX. The world is a small place because we are having our first annual gala in Dallas May 31st raising awareness and funds for mine-action in Kharkiv. Our team in Kharkiv consistently repairs and delivers engineering equipment and various mobility vehicles to Ukraine. This equipment allows our defenders to build safer fortifications and stay mobile during these tough times. Our welder, mechanic, and just a great guy, Tolik, is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Our fundraiser for engineering equipment for FPV protection has slowed down, but we’ve reached 34%, 40,000$ so far, with $80,000 left to raise. Hello everyone who follows Ukraine and wants to help. I am currently fundraising for a non-lethal aid in form of excavators and engineering equipment for Ukraine. (Donation link in the end) The fundraiser has stalled 100/120k goal, with only 20k left to collect so I would like to add a small video and explain the importance. Please watch the video to understand in which conditions these machines work, and how thick vegetation is, and that no other machine can work in such conditions. It’s literally working inside the bush under the tree without breaking the branches. Fortifications that these machines built are not those huge centralized bunkers for battalions. The size of the position is usually for a 5-20 men. While this seems small and insignificant, a good concealed position with dedicated and determined personnel can be an impenetrable fortress for the enemy. Our excavators are designed to build exactly that, their ability to work in a tight concealed areas without breaking the cover of leaves have proven to be decisive in building fortifications. What’s funny is that initially most of the engineers and commanders are skeptical of these machines, because they aren’t popular and unfamiliar in Ukraine. It takes time, first two weeks after getting the equipment they learn on practice how to apply machine capabilities, after a month they start calling and praising it saying they never expected such productivity and ability to work in tight spots. A month later all neighbors of that unit start calling and asking for similar machines. I know this isn’t a sexy drone, but this is a non lethal boring machine that saves lives. While it’s hard for me to quantify the impact, it’s no rare for me to receive a message from someone saying that they were recently under heavy artillery and drone attack but they felt safe because the enemy didn’t know their exact position and their bunker is deep enough to withstand direct hits. Our units are severely understaffed, and Russia continues slowly grinding us of the key reasons I focus on engineering equipment is because it's often an overlooked low-hanging fruit that helps solve manpower shortages, saves defenders' lives, and saves millions of dollars. To put it in numbers: 1️⃣ Building a proper bunker for an infantry platoon takes 2 weeks and 8 people without an excavator. With an excavator, it takes around 3 days and 3 people, effectively reducing toil 9 times. 2️⃣ Unloading a vehicle full of 6-meter logs for fortifications takes 6 people and 4 hours by hand. Specifically, to help build fortifications for motivated units, we need to provide both transport and unloading equipment to offer a complete solution instead of just a simple digger. While an excavator alone is important and solves many issues, pairing it with a truck equipped with a manipulator arm can be a force multiplier. This combination can not only deliver the excavator itself but also quickly unload fortification materials such as logs, concrete structures, and metal brackets. This is the work of my friend on an SPG from the 56th Mechanized Brigade. They’ve been using them from dugouts throughout the brigade. Moving howitzers is too dangerous, so they try to change positions as little as possible — it increases their chances of survival. That’s why these positions must be extremely well built, and the howitzers need additional protection in the form of cages. Obviously, sacrificing mobility isn’t ideal, but it allows artillery to remain viable and effective. Artillery works well with drones and will continue to be a crucial part of the battlefield for years to come. I’m currently fundraising to provide the brigade with two excavators. They’ll be used to support artillery, drone operators, command and control positions, and infantry. Excavators help our troops stay safe under the worst bombardments. My goal is to reach half of our $60,000 fundraising target over the weekend. To be honest, I’m not sure it’s possible, and we may need to extend the fundraiser into April. Donation link at the end. Here are a few more details about our operations. We purchased this rough terrain forklift for the 92nd Brigade. It traveled on the back of one of the crane trucks we previously bought from UK. However, due to Polish customs, we had to unload the forklift from the truck and arrange a separate trailer to take it across the border. The truck had to cross the border empty. Once across, we reloaded the forklift onto the vehicle and continued the journey to Kharkiv. Right now, it's more important than ever to support Ukraine.
