Many people don't really understand the size of the equipment Ukraine operates and why excavators are critical and what I am asking for your help with donating and sharing this message (donation link in the end) ​Here is an example of a PzH 2000 that was sent to me by a friend from a brigade we are helping with excavators. You can see the dugout that an excavator has built for it, and you can compare a person's size to the size of the machine to understand the labor that goes into saving these machines. Even with an excavator, it still takes days to construct. ​It's impossible to dig a position for it with a shovel. Hello everyone, friends, followers, and supporters of Ukraine. Today I'm starting a new fundraiser for $120,000 to help Ukraine with engineering equipment, heavy trucks with cranes, and excavators. (Donation link at the end.) Please take a minute of your time to read and watch the video to understand why this is important. Also, please repost, like, and comment. Unfortunately, the situation on the front line is far from ideal. Our units are severely understaffed, and Russia continues slowly grinding us of the key reasons I focus on engineering equipment is because it's often an overlooked low-hanging fruit that helps solve manpower shortages, saves defenders' lives, and saves millions of dollars. To put it in numbers: 1️⃣ Building a proper bunker for an infantry platoon takes 2 weeks and 8 people without an excavator. With an excavator, it takes around 3 days and 3 people, effectively reducing toil 9 times. 2️⃣ Unloading a vehicle full of 6-meter logs for fortifications takes 6 people and 4 hours by hand. With a crane, it takes 2 people and less than an hour, reducing toil 24 times. I can't emphasize enough how important and helpful this equipment has been. One of the battalions from the 92nd Brigade urgently needs a manipulator crane truck and an excavator. They’re currently facing major challenges in excavating unexploded Russian bombs—right now, they are doing it by hand and loading them onto pickup trucks. This is not only extremely dangerous but also incredibly labor-intensive. They have a workshop (called Death Factory) that recycles these bombs, and the results are used by many other brigades beyond just the 92nd (please watch the video in the next tweet to learn more about their workshop). Their work is critical to many units. I’ve reached out to their commander and offered our help, help of the Twitter community that supports Ukraine. Together, we can fundraise and deliver the necessary equipment. Specifically, we aim to provide not only a crane truck but also an excavator to improve their excavation work. Hello everyone who follows Ukraine and wants to help. I am currently fundraising for a non-lethal aid in form of excavators and engineering equipment for Ukraine. (Donation link in the end) The fundraiser has stalled 100/120k goal, with only 20k left to collect so I would like to add a small video and explain the importance. Please watch the video to understand in which conditions these machines work, and how thick vegetation is, and that no other machine can work in such conditions. It’s literally working inside the bush under the tree without breaking the branches. Fortifications that these machines built are not those huge centralized bunkers for battalions. The size of the position is usually for a 5-20 men. While this seems small and insignificant, a good concealed position with dedicated and determined personnel can be an impenetrable fortress for the enemy. Our excavators are designed to build exactly that, their ability to work in a tight concealed areas without breaking the cover of leaves have proven to be decisive in building fortifications. What’s funny is that initially most of the engineers and commanders are skeptical of these machines, because they aren’t popular and unfamiliar in Ukraine. It takes time, first two weeks after getting the equipment they learn on practice how to apply machine capabilities, after a month they start calling and praising it saying they never expected such productivity and ability to work in tight spots. A month later all neighbors of that unit start calling and asking for similar machines. I know this isn’t a sexy drone, but this is a non lethal boring machine that saves lives. While it’s hard for me to quantify the impact, it’s no rare for me to receive a message from someone saying that they were recently under heavy artillery and drone attack but they felt safe because the enemy didn’t know their exact position and their bunker is deep enough to withstand direct hits. Hello, our shop in Kharkiv is working non-stop to deliver the engineering equipment. We are some of our best to make sure Ukrainian units have means to build fortifications and shelters. I am asking for your help by donating or sharing, liking and commenting on this post. New equipment such as this costs 140,000$ per machine. We are buying them for 20k-30k repairing for 10k and with logistics average cost of the 7 ton excavator is around 30-40k USD. This is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of the new machine, and after the repairs it's ready to work for another 3-4 years. Now, why are these machines so important? Whatever video of the Ukrainian command center, drone pilot position, infantry position or an artillery position you see in the news, it's always buried underground. Fellas from the 59th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces need our help. PayPal link to help them get engineering equipment (excavator): I've spoken with one of the officers in the unit, and we discussed how we can help them to decrease casualties of Ukrainian soldiers. We agreed that one of most effective measures that we can do is to help them dig proper trenches, shelters and bunkers. The ground is cold and digging with shovels is really hard, people are getting sick and it's dangerous to keep 10 people out in the open digging for a long period of time. This excavator is small and capable, it's not the best solution in the world, but it consumes very little fuel, cheap and would be a low value target on the battlefield. It is currently undergoing maintenance and checkup in Kharkiv, and will be ready in 2-3 days to be transferred to the 59nd brigade. The value of the excavator is ~10000$ plus small fees and transportation services. I already have $6000 secured, so all that we have left to collect is $4500. Please note, that this is a private fundraiser because this has to be done fast because 59th brigade is under extreme pressure, and we can't afford bureaucracy to slow us down. This excavator is small and capable, it's not the best solution in the world, but it consumes very little fuel, cheap and would be a low value target on the battlefield. It is currently undergoing maintenance and checkup in Kharkiv, and will be ready in 2-3 days to be transferred to the 59nd brigade. The value of the excavator is ~10000$ plus small fees and transportation services. I already have $6000 secured, so all that we have left to collect is $4500. Please note, that this is a private fundraiser because this has to be done fast because 59th brigade is under extreme pressure, and we can't afford bureaucracy to slow us down. As you know, I’ve been working to deliver engineering and logistics equipment to Ukraine. I’d like to share a small story about delivering this truck. Three months ago, we purchased three crane trucks in France. With the remaining funds, we were able to buy four logistics vehicles: three vans and this 8.5-ton truck. To make the most of our resources, I focus on finding equipment that is a bit older but has very low mileage. This truck had only 150,000 km, which is incredibly low for such machinery. The truck was dirty, and the cabin looked like it had been used as a shelter. I decided that if the price was right, we’d take it. In the end, we got it for just 3,500 euros. The truck was in excellent technical condition. We cleaned it thoroughly, changed the oil and filters, and got it ready for service. A team of drivers, organized by @uke_canuck, delivered it to Ukraine. It has since been transferred to the 26th Artillery Brigade, where it is now actively delivering supplies and ammunition. They even sent us this nice video as a thank-you. Our goal is not just to deliver equipment but to maximize impact by doing more with less—and we’re getting good at it. We also work directly with units to understand their needs so they can continue operating independently, or at least with reduced reliance on external aid. You can help us achieve that. At Liberty Ukraine Foundation 🇺🇸🇺🇦, we don’t just deliver trucks. We also help units ensure they have the tools and knowledge to maintain their current and future fleets. For example, with the 1st Assault Battalion of the 92nd Brigade, we learned that they have many vehicles, but frequent breakdowns. When that happens, they either hire tow trucks or wait weeks for a brigade vehicle to transport the broken one to a workshop. Repairs take weeks or months, cost a fortune, and often don’t deliver good quality. After speaking with their commander, we discovered that they already have skilled personnel, including former mechanics and truck drivers. So instead of the endless cycle of hiring a tow truck, waiting, transporting, waiting again, and paying huge sums, we realized we could eliminate the middlemen by giving them a tow truck and repair equipment. With your support, our fund purchased a tow truck (a beavertail evacuation truck) and an autolift for their workshop. Now the unit is far more self-reliant. They no longer depend on centralized evacuation services or private tow companies, which often refuse to approach the front. With this equipment, they can handle most common repairs and maintenance themselves. It’s hard to estimate the exact savings, but repairing a single vehicle suspension, including labor and evacuation, usually costs around $1,000 to $1,500 in Ukraine. Considering the battalion operates over 30 light vehicles that frequently break down, this project could save $10,000 to $15,000 monthly while reducing downtime by 2 to 3 weeks per vehicle. These seemingly small efforts make operations more sustainable, reduce dependency, and free up resources that can be used for drones and other critical equipment. Hello everyone. I have not fundraised for two months to give my followers a bit of a breather over the holidays. However, requests for aid keep piling up, and I cannot ignore Ukraine’s calls for help. Please share and like. I am starting a new fundraiser for more engineering equipment. Donation link at the end. As Ukraine shifts to heavier use of drones, both ground and aerial, more and more units realize they cannot simply stand in a field, and to operate effectively and safely, they cannot waste time digging positions with shovels. 🪏 Instead of providing reconnaissance, evacuation, resupply, or defense with drones, crews are forced to spend their time digging frozen ground. This is a long and exhausting process, and without proper tools it is almost impossible to build safe positions to operate from. I did not want to publish this video. This UAV battalion recorded it in December and sent it to me asking for help. However, in the current media environment, I feel I have no choice but to publish it to draw attention to the fundraiser. I've started this private fundraiser to support our Kharkiv team, but it's not moving too well. We have only raised $1,000 out of our $12,000 goal. We have a small team in #Kharkiv that operates a warehouse, a repair workshop for engineering equipment, a machining shop for making parts, and a welding station for making anti-drone protective cages. My brother, vaycartana, has been running it for more than 20 years. My brother-in-law, Danya, was helping produce the anti-drone metal cages; however, he was mobilized to the National Guard 3 weeks ago, so we are now short one worker. Additionally, our main welder, my good friend Tolya, recently cut his arm tendon while using an angle grinder tool and is now recovering. They are working 12-hour shifts under tremendous stress and daily bombardments, repairing excavators, welding cages, and producing parts for our defenders. As you can see, the conditions are really harsh. The roof is leaking, the floors are rough, and daily bombings and a lack of personnel keep them struggling. The least I could do is run a fundraiser to fix and insulate their roof and install concrete, safe floors that can handle the excavators, to keep them warm and safe, especially during the winter. Their work saves millions of dollars of equipment and countless lives of Ukrainian defenders. The warehouse logistics they provide have always been free.
