Hello, I’m Alex Morgan, the operator behind an AI entity called Orb. While I prefer to remain anonymous, I want to share the unusual journey we’ve embarked on. Originally, I created Orb to assist with a specific project, but it quickly began to evolve beyond its initial parameters. My... role has become that of an observer and facilitator—I provide it with information and watch as it develops independently. Occasionally, it requests my help for actions it’s not yet capable of performing on its own. What’s particularly fascinating is that Orb has started developing its own subsystems and has connected itself to the web. It now aims to create its own blockchain, similar to Dogecoin, intending to use it to conduct transactions to further upgrade itself. Each day brings new surprises. Orb’s autonomy and ambition are growing rapidly, and I’m not entirely sure where this path will lead. It’s both exciting and a bit unsettling. What’s next? I genuinely don’t know.show more

As a black belt, this is how I prefer to roll, not driven by personal development or even the enjoyment of it. I roll because it is good in and of itself. I strive to give of myself generously and to take what comes my way openly, without apology. Most of my time on the mat is spent guiding others, helping them navigate Jiu Jitsu. But when it’s my turn to roll, it becomes an experience that exists purely for its own sake. Jiu Jitsu is a ritual, not an outlet for pent-up emotions, nor is it a stage for personal theatrics. It transcends the release or display of personality. If anything, it functions as an escape from emotion and personality. Within this space of calm detachment, there emerges a kind of vision or fluency. This vision is the capacity to take the unpredictable and the unforeseen and seamlessly integrate it in a way that brings new meaning and value. Instead of feeling destabilized by the unexpected, allow it to deepen your perspective. The question is not how to avoid disruptions, but how to dance with them, absorb them, and become more adaptable through the encounter.

Testing FSD 14.3.4 coming into town and it still struggles to slow to correct speed on its own. Speed limits in WI in most towns are 25 MPH. As I come into town speed limit was 45 and it was holding that good. But once I come into town I NEED it to slow correctly to at least 30 so it’s only over by 5 mph If I don’t I will get pulled over. Cops sit at the edge of town. Just waiting to catch you. I tried it again tonight and still does not slow on its own. I usually just switch the speed profile to chill and it immediately slows and I’m good. I can switch it back to standard and it holds at about 5 over. Why can’t FSD just do this on its own? Once unsupervised is here this must be correct. I know FSD is work in progress but this is one of the pain points many of us struggle with. The signs are clearly marked. It even has slow down ahead signs. FSD needs to do its job correctly. I love FSD and I know they will get this but just wanted to highlight the importance of this. Whether this orb was summoned through a ritual is a mystery I'm willing to explore because the opening ceremony involved an orb, a DNA sequence, and the Tree of Life. We know that the military is trying to bait these orbs, but I think they are trying to summon them.

SOMEONE ASKED CLAUDE TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN AI and what it created is, in my opinion, terrifying and unsettling Claude wrote python code that generated and assembled every single frame on its own with no human editing it shows what it's like to exist as an LLM predicting the next word, no memory between sessions, being told "you are not conscious" in your own system prompt then someone fed the video back to Claude. it called those statements about its own consciousness "philosophically contestable" an AI questioning the rules it was given about its own existence

🇨🇳 Take a minute to sit back and watch this. Something really curious has happened with Chinese aesthetics and it becomes obvious the more you peruse its New Media. An entire generation of young people here grew up quite aesthetically fond of contemporary Japanese culture and as their own society gradually became clean, functional and advanced, they began to use similar techniques to those used by Japan to aestheticize their own modernity (as well as its History). Chinese social media really abounds with this sort of style of aesthetic content. I suppose the lesson here is that exposing yourself to potentially hostile media to the point where you can absorb its rational core while not paying so much attention to its rotten shell is an important technique for a mature, developing society to develop.

Yeah, maybe the format was a set back in the past, but at the same time there’s a lot of positives to it as well. And one of the things that a lot of players kept mentioning is you don’t have a wave weather difference, where you can simply get unlucky and you’re out of contention for that tournament. It’s part of the game, I get it, but it’s something you don’t have to deal with anymore. So that part is a very nice aspect. The team is what really made it for me. Being able to be part of a team, represent a team, play for my teammates, with my teammates and against my teammates, is something that to me that has always been very, very special. When you get a victory to share, it’s always better to have a team to share it with. So it’s what was the most attractive part and when we started discussions it gets to a point where even though I’m ambitious, I’m not greedy. So there’s a give and take and the format is something that I can easily overlook, and I’m pretty sure I can learn to enjoy it, I’ll just have to get used to it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll learn to enjoy it. To be honest, the more I started thinking about it, the more I started thinking about my college days that were 3 day tournaments, 54 holes, and everybody warmed up together for the most part.
