James has a full animation for reading the map although we never see it. His body language & posture are strange, and it looks as if all his muscles stiffen and relax repeatedly. His head is trembling slightly, but it might not be visible because twitter ruins video quality.

The enable PSSR 2.0 option in the PS5 settings menu doesn't improve GT7's image clarity with my initial tests, if anything it looks worse, Sony warned this could be the case with unpatched games. A shame but not unexpected. Hopefully a PSSR 2.0 patch for GT7 follows soon.
