MVP of Multiview Video → Camera parameters + 3D keypoints. Visualized with Rerun The basic pipeline as of right now looks like this: 1. Capture 🔴 – Using 4 iPhones and an Insta360 Go. iPhone videos are captured via Final Cut Pro Multicam for easy sync and the exocentric view; the Insta360 Go is used for the egocentric view. 2. Sync 🕒 – Custom Gradio app using two Rerun viewers and callbacks for easily aligning frame timestamps so the ego and exo views are aligned. 3. Calibrate 🎯 – Use VGGT from Jianyuan and AI at Meta to get intrinsics/extrinsics for sparse cameras. 4. Estimate 3D 🕺 – Use RTMLib whole‑body keypoint estimator on each frame, then triangulate in 3D. What's missing? 1. No temporal coherence: I’m estimating keypoints one frame at a time and one camera at a time. This leads to a lot of jittering. For now, I plan on adding a One Euro Filter to help with jittering. Long term, I'd want to train a multiview keypoint estimator 2. Kinematic fitting is still missing; this is my next goal. The output will be joint angles, as explored in my previous posts. 3. Missing dense point cloud: VGGT seems to fail for me here. I’m looking to explore using MP‑SFM as a method for generating dense multiview depth maps + normals (plus it has a friendlier license compared to VGGT). 4. Eventually, creation of 4D Gaussian splatting using something akin to DN‑splatter—my long‑term goal is a data engine that provides poses/depths/splats/keypoints/etc.

Most avatar models move to the beat of the audio but miss meaning, so gestures feel generic and emotions feel shallow. The fix here is a Multimodal LLM planner that listens to the speech and drafts a structured plan describing intent, emotions, beats, and high level actions, which gives the motion engine clear semantic targets instead of only rhythm. The motion engine is a Multimodal Diffusion Transformer that fuses the plan with audio, the single reference image, and optional text prompts, then synthesizes continuous body, face, and head motion that matches both words and tone. A key trick is a Pseudo Last Frame, a synthetic target that summarizes the next expected state, which stabilizes fusion across modalities and keeps motion consistent over long spans. From just 1 image and speech, the system outputs speaking avatars with synchronized lips, context aware gestures, and continuous camera movement, and it also supports multi character interactions without manual choreography. Reported results show strong lip sync accuracy, high video quality, natural motion, and close match to text prompts, and the same setup works on nonhuman characters too.

🎓Learn how to create a powerful Dynamic Embers smart material in a matter of seconds, in my latest video series (AAA) Pro Tips! This smart material can be used on virtually any 3D asset. ___________________________________________________ In this video, the steps are as follows: 1. Create a fill layer to then apply the base maps for our asset into it. 2. Bake out the world space, AO, Curvature, and Position maps. These maps will be crucial for the smart material to function. Also, be sure to add an emissive channel to the project. 3. Next, create another fill layer labeled (Fire animation gradient) with a black mask and inside the mask apply a paint layer. Select the paint layer and paint a simple pill shape using a soft brush. Add an anchorpoint to the mask and disable all channels in this fill layer. 4. Create a folder labeled (embers smart material) and set it to pass through. Add a paint layer inside this folder and set it to pass through as well followed by an anchorpoint. 5. Create another fill layer and apply the paint layers anchorpoint information into its color channel. From here an HSL filter should be added to desaturate and darken the colors. 6. Next, create an additional fill layer with an orange-colored emissive channel. Add a black mask to this fill layer and inside its mask apply a dirt generator. This will give us the illusion of the embers glowing from inside the charred tree. Duplicate this fill layer and tweak its emissive color to a yellowish hue and reduce its mask amount. Do this a second time but with a white-colored emissive channel. This will now create an effect of the embers appearing brighter the deeper they are inside the tree. 7. Lastly, add these layers into a folder with a black mask and apply the (Fire Animation Gradient) anchorpoint into its mask via a fill layer. Now we have a charred embers effect wherever we paint using the paint layer created inside the gradient mask!
