I tried the app, so far the capture process is slightly too long and having the bounding box and having to go around 360 can be tricky for some objects. However the result seems pretty amazing.

The capture process took approximately 1 minute, while the 3D reconstruction process took around 4 minutes. When compared to previous photogrammetry processes on a MacBook or dedicated servers, the difference is significant, and it’s poised to become even faster in the future! 🚀

Absolutely brilliant! 🤩 The fusion of AR with dining takes the culinary experience to a whole new dimension. It's not just about tasting the food anymore; it's about immersing oneself in it. Can't wait to see this tech become a staple in restaurants worldwide.

@jessicaTV Can objects be exported to a common 3d model format to then be used in an app of our own making?

The AR Code Object Capture app automatically generates .usdz files. You can then import them into Blender to convert them to various 3d file formats. When your capture is linked to an AR Code, you will have the possibility to download the .glb and .usdz versions of your 3D model on the statistics page of your AR Code at:

Object needs to be larger then 8 cm? In the near future, would objects smaller than that be possible to scan? Also, rotating objects on turntable would be a bonus too 😉

It would be nice to have the ability to rotate the object rather than trying to rotate around the object. Just a thought, but my first try was pretty cool! Also it didn’t really capture the inside of the cup perfectly, but I feel like it did a pretty decent job!

You can rotate the 3D model in the AR view. Feel free to give it a try by scanning the AR QR Code generated in the video 🚀
