If you listen carefully in her context she makes a lot of sense.

As someone born in Kenya I will say that these expectations are unrealistic. Why would someone with 500 million choose Kenya to set up a starter business when with that kind of capital they can establish the same business in virtually any country in the world? Kenya is a great country with enormous potential. But you don’t attract serious capital by chasing investors you attract it by creating an environment where capital feels welcome protected and incentivised to stay.

I have not seen Chinese flocking to Embassy of China to seek refuge. What we have seen Burundians being victimized, harassed and their business ware destroyed. It was after President's pronouncement that this xenophobic attack started. So this video does help anything.

Well said. The issue isn't Burundian hustlers and you have put it in a mature and honest manner. Please Mr. President protect your people.

This is what we are saying, nationals who are supposed to be wholesalers should not be allowed to be retailers, that is the concern, why are Burundians selling coffee being targeted, I think the president should address this matter before it gets out of hand

How comes they sell at a cheaper price? Do you also want United States government to recall foreigners from doing small businesses? What is china does the same? Before these unexposed Bimbos open their mouth they should think

But your president gets it all wrong. We said police reforms but he heard police uniforms. Now he was told to enforce what the immigration law requires on foreign investors and he lashed out at Burundian tea and mandazi hawkers.

Kenyans should desist from targeting foreign traders who contribute to our economy and pay taxes. Problem is let's control the witty Chinese, the same issue also being in Zambia. Just mention China by name. Don't fear.

So at what point did the Burundians become a topic. Why did they get triggered? Why just them and not the other East Africans ? We sympathize with them and pray for their healing from Trauma. That’s the only explanation we can read from their reaction.

Protectionist policies, good for a handful, bad for 58 million consumers. When competition exists, good strategies swim, and not so good sink. Innovation, productivity, and efficiency rise as a result.

Kenyans from the diaspora send in $5.4B yearly, doing shitty jobs overseas. So, unless you want to tell me that a couple of Burundians swallow $5.4B every year, then we need to be very careful what our next move is.

I align myself with the thinking of this woman. If we have only foreign suppliers because local suppliers have been kicked out, money will stop circulating. A Kenyan business person sends money to over 5 other Kenyans, parents, friends. A foreigner sends it outside.
