There is an art to making ARTIFICIAL STONE which the ancient people knew. Even #Roman #Concrete uses alkali chemistry with volcanic ash in addition to the Calcium/Lime based chemistry. @FoMaHun

On a recent Lex Friedman podcast an archaeologist mentioned he believed they may have been using Hydrofluoric acid to shape the rock.
