Here’s a conversation I just had while running some errands, about 20 minutes ago outside of 23 Federal Plaza here in Manhattan. There’s a lot you can say about these two, but in my estimation, they’re pretty archetypical of today’s modern left: inflammatory zeal complimented by intellectual void. These... people will scream and cry until the cows come home, but when confronted with a small dose of harsh reality, they shudder and squirm. Shirkers. Idly waiting for the next cause and next banner. Sometimes I feel like Oppenheimer in this city. Alone. Reading. Troubled by visions of a hidden universe. Other times, I feel like I’m the last man standing before treble in Los Alamos. I care about the Manhattan Project. I just want to see this city survive.show more

I know a lot of people aren't a fan of Frontiers' tone, but say what you want about the story it gave Ohtani an excuse to make some of the most beautiful tracks in the series They fit the whole vibe of the game perfectly and I doubt we'll see tracks like these again

Kevin Durant on this comment from the other day: "I just feel like fans and media need something to complain about, and the All-Star Game don't make them feel like they them feel back when they was kids. They need something to complain about. I don't think it's that big of a deal, to be honest, the All-Star Game, All-Star Weekend. Just here to celebrate the game of basketball...They're coming to watch. People at home complaining about the game and the intensity of it. I don't think we'll ever get past that, but to see everybody still here, showing up, doing their jobs, pushing the game forward through this weekend, you go around the city, it's so much energy in the city, so many past greats...representing the game of basketball. I just think it's way bigger than that this weekend. We can talk about who plays harder...all that stuff don't matter. I just really feel like this is a great weekend to bring so many people together and help push the game forward"

But the flight that has actually happened: 200,000 Black New Yorkers have left this city in the last few decades. There are so many people who will still tell you they’re New Yorkers, but now they live in South Carolina, they live in other parts of the country because they couldn’t afford to live in this city. And you can feel that in neighborhoods across this city, you can feel that in classrooms across the city. And so for me, it’s always ask yourself: How has this city left people behind, and how can we actually start to show up?

⭐️: What am I into these days? These days? These days, I kind of just… I think I’m living in a sort of "no‑thoughts" state. I don’t really have emotional ups and downs, just… I'm calm. I kind of, I don’t really know my feelings these days. It’s not like my emotions are going up and down a lot or anything, but then, when I met a friend of mine and we talked I realized I actually have more worries than I thought. But I also wonder if I just didn’t have the space to talk about them. So, on one hand... I don’t know if I have a lot of worries or if I just don’t have thoughts. With work, work is busy too but sometimes I even wonder if I’m actually busy. Because when you do so many schedules… you don’t really feel it. Like, maybe I am really busy but I just can’t feel it. No, It’s not a slump. It’s pretty far from a slump. A slump is when work doesn’t go well and doing things feels hard, but I’m not like that. When I work, it’s fun and exciting, I just don’t really have emotional highs and lows. So I wonder if maybe this is actually a good thing?That’s how it is. I don’t think you need to worry about this, but actually, I did have a lot of worries and concerns… I just didn’t realize I was worrying about them? Yeah. "Maybe it’s because you haven’t had much time to take care of yourself?" No, but I think I’m actually the type who takes care of myself pretty well. Ah, recently I’ve been going to the sauna alone pretty often and I’ve had some time to think while doing that.
