It was '78 or 79 that my dad after getting save 2 years prior, that he went to Founders Week Bible Conference at Moody Bible, that MacArthur was a guest speaker.. that he brought the cassette tapes back and we heard MacArthur for first time. Hard seeing him fade out!!

John MacArthur isn’t wrong unless you consider the fact that nothing he said made you want to love Jesus more, not even the thought of heaven. It’s not a matter of escaping this world, it’s ultimately about seeing the one who bought us with his blood because we love him.

Terri, thanks for sharing this. We’re living in the end times. As King David said in 1 Chronicles 29:15, “We are aliens and pilgrims before you, as we’re all our fathers.” Our time here on earth is so short, at most 150 years. May we live every day glorifying God, our Creator.

Heaven isnt our home, Mr MacArthur, and we are not 'just a passing through' this earth. Read the Bible. New creation is our home. We spend eternity 'down here' not 'up there.' Heaven comes done to earth!

I discovered Pastor John in 1988 coming home one night after an AA meeting on GTY radio. Change my whole life and I will be forever grateful.

1987, wow. Did not know that was the case pre internet, it makes sense but I was just a kid and don’t remember that.

He has a net worth of around 20 mill last time i checked. I'm no fan of the use Jesus to get rich crowd mind you. But the gospel has been good to him materially speaking.

Pastor John has had a long run. I've been blessed so much through his ministry. What a great man. Consistent through out. I wonder what year this is from?
