Here's another look a the same feature, bookmarking, in this case, executed differently in Basecamp 4 vs. Basecamp 5. Even the little things are significantly better.

First I critique something particularly embarrassing in Basecamp 4, and then show you how we completely redesigned the same flow in Basecamp 5. We grow!

Here's a great use case for Claude and the Basecamp CLI. Pull together some inspirational photos of iconic furniture from around the world, and upload them to the appropriately named galleries inside a Basecamp project. Here's a quick walkthrough:

Here's a little sneak peek of something we're aiming to ship this week in Basecamp 5. Zoom the center column on home to go full screen with project cards. Better optimized for people with larger screens, and similar to a view we had in BC4 for those who are used to that. Coming soon!

Here's a ~20-min one-take video walking through some of the major (and minor) improvements to the project page in Basecamp 5. The project page is the heart of Basecamp. I actively flip back and forth between 4 and 5 so you can really see the contrast. Sorry 4, you lose, but you put up a good fight for years! In the video I go through significant quality-of-life/work improvements in to-dos, documents, page structure, readability, card tables, inviting people, etc. Check it out.

Another Basecamp update today! Now activity is condensed at the top of a project, and fully expanded at the bottom. Such a great way to just know what's been happening, daily, all the way back to day one. Simply scroll. Not on Basecamp yet? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Dumping Mac OS for Omarchy? Keep up the momentum... Dump that pile of "the usual" work tools and replace them with Basecamp. Revolution's in the air my friends.

Another live design review. Here we're reviewing a set of initial design concepts for a new Basecamp feature in development called "Move The Needle". This is the first time I've seen the work. It's an hour, so it's a lot to watch, but if you're curious, this is the work!

Here's a look at our Product Strategy project in Basecamp where most of the shaping/structuring happens. That said, Shape Up is a process that's embedded into everything we do, in every project. But hopefully this provides a window into something interesting for you.

We just launched a feature we began exploring a decade+ ago, but never released it. It was originally destined for Campfire, our chat tool. The feature is called Bonfire. Now that Campfire is built into Basecamp, Bonfire belongs there. And today it's live for all Basecamp 5 customers. What's Bonfire? I put together a short video to show you what it is and how it works:

We were recently down in Atlanta and got a chance to visit with a customer of ours, King of Pops (King of Pops) They've made a huge name for themselves in ATL serving fun & popsicles all over the city. And it was such a treat to find out their whole business runs on Basecamp! Their suppliers, photographers, designers, individual carts, and even yoga instructors are all working together in Basecamp. While we were down there we shot a video with them. And here it is: This is King of Pops, and how they use Basecamp to make it all come together.

We paid a visit to Garrett Brown Designs in Westminster, Colorado, to see how they use Basecamp to run their furniture/millwork-making shop. Some good characters in this one, and lots of peeks into their actual account. Before Basecamp they tried Monday, Asana, and a number of the other usual suspects. Then they finally felt like they arrived when they landed on Basecamp. Check it out:

Here's a simple but A+ effective new feature we just shipped in Basecamp: Filter the latest activity timeline by people, departments, and projects. I love seeing everything across our company, but now I can instantly filter down to just designers when I need to. So handy.

We just spent a morning in Chicago with a bunch of our customers. Woodworkers, music biz folks, publishers, educators, logistics pros, product designers, painters, medical device makers... Some who've been using Basecamp for more than a decade (and even one who's first day on Basecamp was THAT DAY!). Such a broad collection of folks! Here's a fun, one minute video recap. 😍

We don't do GANTT charts in Basecamp, but we do have the Lineup which is a similar view at a higher level.

Making Basecamp 5 capable of the kind of key combos I relish in Neovim has been such a delight. Can't wait to share with all the keyboard-everything stans very soon!
