Rosie says it’s a nice relief that viewers are finally starting to like her now. She also clapped back at claims that she is jealous of Kelsey, saying she’s not the type of person who gets jealous. And even when she was in the group the girls always spoke about wanting her AURA. Her magnetism is what got her into DA, what got people rooting for her then/now and one of the many things we love about her. Gia Giudice gave us a lot of insight into herself and her sisters, and how they’ve all navigated life on reality TV and the fame that comes with it. Before I get into what Gia said about each of her sisters, I have to note something I found interesting… Gia shared that she felt she had to step up on RHONJ and be there for her mom while filming, since her mom was left on her own after her dad, Joe Giudice went to prison. I am sure it’s something a lot of firstborns can relate to… feeling the need to take on a parental role, whether that’s for younger siblings or even for your own parents. Back to Gia and her sisters… Gia explained that growing up on the show, as the years went on, she and her siblings had more say in how much they wanted to be involved in that world. I love this old interview with Monica Bellucci because it perfectly illustrates why we can never have another Monica Bellucci. It's not because of her beauty. It's because no celebrity knows how to be authentic anymore. Notice how she answers that being Monica Bellucci is basically about not having a strong ego, then immediately proves it by being annoyed that she has to talk about herself. "In this industry you always have to say I, I, I..." Or how she clearly never filmed herself talking to "her followers", since her instinct is to describe being "normal", i.e., authentic, as separate from when cameras are rolling. "I live a normal life, and every now and then, there's a camera." Then, when asked what the French people think of her, instead of going on a rant praising how "awesome" they are, she just goes, "yeah, I think they like me a bit." Long Post ! The internet is celebrating #TMC nomination of Menaka Guruswamy to the #RajyaSabha, with many highlighting that she comes from the LGBTQ+ community. Representation matters - there is no doubt about that. But for many of us, including myself , what truly stands out is something even bigger: her extraordinary merit and body of work. Before I even knew about her personal identity, (which is none of my business) I knew her as one of the sharpest legal minds in the country. A Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, she is known for her clarity of argument, intellectual rigour, and fierce commitment to constitutional values. She can standup in a courtroom and never use her gender or sexuality to make an argument. She can shut down people without saying “excuse me, I am a woman and ladies first” Look at the journey - Alumna of National Law School of India University, University of Oxford, and Harvard Law School. A Rhodes Scholarship recipient. B. R. Ambedkar Research Scholar and Lecturer at Columbia University. She has taught at Yale University, the University of Toronto, and New York University. In 2019, she and Arundhati Katju were named among Time’s 100 most influential people in the world. That is not just representation. That is excellence. Yes, she has been an important voice in advancing LGBTQ+ rights. But what makes her remarkable is that she argues with logic, scholarship, and constitutional depth…not identity. Her work speaks first. And perhaps that’s the real message here: people from the LGBTQ+ community are not seeking validation through labels. They are living with dignity, building careers, shaping institutions, and through their work making it easier for society to shed prejudice. So when Menaka Guruswamy enters the Rajya Sabha, it shouldn’t be reduced to a single aspect of who she is. She will walk in there with SEVERAL DEGREES THAT SHE WILL NEVER OR NEVER HAVE TO HIDE. That is the qualification that matters. And that is worth celebrating.
