This is the Walther Automatic Shotgun - frequently referred to as the "Walther Toggle Action" shotgun, due to the fact it has a toggle-locked action. 🎬 Navi of Boomhandia Produced from around 1921 until around 1931, this shotgun features quite a few interesting aspects: a rotary charging handle and a magazine tube that drops down to facilitate loading. However, much like the Rheinmetall NR4 we looked at previously, post-war conditions in Germany made it so that production of the Walther was plagued with quality control issues. On top of that, the Walther's design is a nightmarish combination of mechanisms that all seem to want to stop one another from working correctly. And while "Swiss watch" mechanisms in guns can work quite reliably, the Walther shotguns relied on extensive hand fitting of sub-par materials, and this resulted in guns that quickly earned a rather poor reputation for reliability.
