Here’s my solution to the shutdown. Pass 12 separate bills. I made this video in 2018 when Schumer did the same thing he’s doing this week. It’s really worth a watch, because some things never change…. Well… the color of my hair changed but that’s about it!

#제이크 #JAKE 🦮 Ah, about my hair, I can't exactly say when... it was the day before we departed. The day before departure. I did it the day before leaving for the Prada event, so it finished really late. I actually dyed it for about 6 hours. 🦮 Because my hair was originally a bit brown. So, since it was brown, for the sides... they had to bleach the sides two or three times before doing this color and they also redid the top in black, but the black wasn't showing up well. Because of the brown, the black didn't take well at first, so they had to do the black again. 🦮For all of you. For all of you... I did it for all of you. the dedication 😭 we love your hair jake!

🫍 It wasn’t really that big of a thing, but it happened during the time when I was going through burnout. Like I said before (about trying to heal by doing things out of comfort zone), since this is something new for me... The thing was, I had a really sore throat, so I couldn’t take singing lessons, but the concert date was getting closer. That one time when Ju asked me when I'll take a practice for song, I had a sore throat at the time. Well, since I’m doing it anyway, I needed to do something, so I decided to learn the language instead. I had to make those 2 hours of lessons worth it to practice my pronounciation. For me, it was pretty hard because I don’t really watch Korean series. The 2 series I remember watching are Full House and The Glory, I guess? So the language wasn’t really familiar to my ears. You know, it’s hard to mimic because I usually learn by mimicking. So when it comes to a language I didn’t really have much exposure to, it takes longer time to practice. The L sound and stuff like that. But when I can finally do it, it's so fun. I love it.

I’ve had quite a few people ask about how I use the black and white underpainting in my process. Here’s a short timelapse video showing part of the color pas over ‘Chrysalis’. I don’t always use an underpainting, but when I do, I use it to work out the overall values and lighting…especially useful when large areas of the painting are invented…such as the entire background and landscape of this painting. Then I make the color pass in pass in opaque oil and use the underpainting as a value guide…free to focus entirely on the color.
