Ben Hur (1959) was shot in Rome and employed 50,000 Italian actors and extras, including this party scene featuring some of Rome's 1950s high society. It was the most expensive film made as of 1959, with a budget adjusted for inflation of $165 million ($15.2 at the time). Nolan's budget for the Odyssey is $250 million, some of that from Greece itself. Apparently no Greeks.

Not a movie, but I'll forever be intrigued by George Lucas' original concept for what would've been the first live action Star Wars series. This test footage from 2010 is honestly so much fun, and looks to be a perfect blend of digital and practical effects. Such a fascinating glimpse at what could've been one of the biggest series ever made.

A tool test hackathon done over a weekend earlier this year culminated in this short film that ended up on the news last night! No matter what you think of AI video, the abundance of tools are making it easier than ever for creators to dream up, concept, test, and produce ideas, stories, and worlds than ever before. We've had a lot of interest from a few communities for a more thorough tutorial but in the meantime the tools we used were: Lumalabs Dream Machine Runway Gen 2 and Gen 3 Pika Stable Diffusion Dough (shout out our friends Banodoco) Udio Midjourney Blender Have fun experimenting!

Almost! Don't be fooled by the camera work, folks. I can be charming, but my charisma quotient is not at the "mass scene" level, of the kind featuring a slow-motion entry by a stylish hero.

COMING SOON TO PS1: Tony Squawk's Pro Skater 🛹 Featuring Chad Molluska (definitely not the octopus version of Chad Muska), Bam Marsupial and more! Backgrounds, graphics and characters are Nano Banana, videos are Seedance 2 and workflow is Figma Weave There's a few rough spots, eg the voices are slightly inconsistent, lip sync is a little wrong in one shot, etc but overall I'm pretty happy with it as a proof of concept! Might build this out into a full cut scene/level some time.

This collaboration included not just one, but several videos (plus a few secret explorations). From unveiling AI Mode to the world, to creating sizzle pieces for I/O, and even crafting ads you might’ve spotted out in the wild, it’s been a fun ride. I have to say that this weekend's race at Charlotte Motor Speedway was the best overall race of my career. I know the finishing position wasn't our best, but that doesn't tell the story. From the drop of the green flag we were two and three wide every single moment of the race, battling hard and it felt so good to get to race against some really amazing drivers and teams. Had to dodge some huge wrecks in the process! Massive shout-out to Priority Tire for being a part of my team and the only place I buy tires. Also to Team Reaume for bringing a badass, fast race truck. I cannot wait to race again in Nashville this Friday because I feel like we've found our groove! Ford Racing

But, I hope this is worth it to experiment with this animation, and the greenscreen. Which someday in the future, I'll be making better of greenscreen so, stay tune for this. Warner Bros. didn't understand Zack Snyder's pitch for 300. They thought it was too similar to other recent sword and sandals movies like Troy. So he convinced them to let him make this proof of concept. "Then they said 'ok, we're going to give you some money. Not a lot. A small amount. To go and film a scene from the movie.' I really just wanted to show them the style of the world rather than a specific moment from the script to say 'this is the world it takes place in,' so we did this little sort of 360 degree shot of a Spartan fighting some Persian soldiers."

That is an internal affair of Pakistan. But there is a human being at stake. There are cricket fans and others who would like to know what happened to the gentleman. You can't put somebody in jail and make him disappear. So, if something has happened, the authority should come clean on it, in my view."
