I just saw a tiktok of a woman preacher saying that her husband is the closest thing to “god” in her household (apparently this thinking is in the Bible) so she was encouraging women saying before you speak to your husband negatively, ask would you talk to God that way…. I-

I bout broke my finger blocking that page. How it got on my fyp is beyond me. I’m all for teaching Women how to respect their husbands verbally…but putting us husband on the pedestal with “God” is WILD to me.

Giving the advice to look to your husband as a “god like” being in your house hold to hundreds of women is also VERY dangerous advice b/c you don’t know WHO these women are married to. Statistically at least 1 Woman in that room has an abusive partner listening to that.

You see she didn’t actually read the scripture. Simply saying it’s in Ephesians ain’t gonna suffice. Read the Word

Being the breadwinner but calling your man an equivalent to God?

Sometimes I feel bad for women the church can foster such poor self esteem in women just to keep a man.

My thing is… this is worshipping. You’re not supposed to worship none other than god… right??

It's all the women gasping at "would you talk to God that way?" because 1. yes. God gets yelled at more than my husband. 2. if you actually think about what she is saying it makes no sense. and if you use scripture to debunk all of what she is saying. very cringe.

Now, i'm not religious, but i thought we weren't supposed to worship ANYONE but God...?

I hate this. The husband is not the "God-figure" in the household. First of all, the first thing that part in Ephesians 5 (v. 21) says is to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Both need to submit to each other. Then, it breaks it down for the wife and husband...
