Mission accomplished? As a firm supporter of President Trump, the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan were long overdue and critical. Trump’s choice to execute these as precise, isolated operations, avoiding a full-scale war, showcases his strategic acumen in confronting a terror regime that endangers Israel and backs groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. Yet, the absence of solid evidence proving the mission’s success is deeply troubling. Trump’s declaration of a “great success,” mirrored by Vice President Vance and Secretary Rubio, lacks substance without verifiable proof. The most alarming issue is the lack of radiation signatures, as reported by the IAEA. Hitting three major nuclear sites filled with highly enriched uranium, using massive explosives, should have triggered detectable fallout. Zero radiation points to two scenarios: either the bombs failed to breach the fortified, mountain-encased facilities like Fordow, or Iran moved its nuclear material beforehand. Both outcomes weaken the strike’s effectiveness. Iranian officials, including a former IRGC commander, claimed on state TV that uranium was relocated before June 13, 2025, with reports of unusual cargo activity at the sites days earlier. Iran likely foresaw the attack, given weeks of U.S. and Israeli warnings. Speculation about cargo flights, possibly tied to Russia or China, and Iran’s prior uranium transfers to Moscow under the 2015 JCPOA suggest the material may be out of reach. This recalls Clinton and Obama’s failures, which allowed Pakistan and North Korea to gain nuclear arsenals. Trump aimed to block a third nuclear threat, but without proof of destroyed uranium or centrifuges, the mission’s impact remains uncertain. Israel’s safety, a top priority, depends on neutralizing Iran’s nuclear threat. Trump’s commitment bolsters this cause, but vague statements from his team are not enough. The Pentagon’s early reports claim significant damage, yet Iran’s nuclear agency asserts its program continues. Trump must deliver clear evidence, such as satellite imagery or IAEA findings, to validate the strike’s success. Without it, the risk persists that Iran’s nuclear capabilities endure, turning this courageous act into an incomplete victory.
