Canadians, if I’m being honest, I’m starting to lose hope that we are even capable of coming together to stop what’s happening right in front of us. Look around. We are watching policies move forward that make it easier for people to give up entirely. At some point we have to start asking ourselves why all of these things seem to be happening at the same time. There is a reason our streets are becoming unsafer each day. It’s Intentional. We’ve got to stop letting people gaslight us into thinking racism isn’t real or that group economics isn’t necessary for Black progress. Right now, Black unemployment is up to 7.2%. For Black women, it’s risen from 5.5% to 6.3% since last year. If we’re serious about confronting discrimination, we have to be intentional about supporting each other. That’s not racist — that’s wisdom. There are always a few Black folks who choose to serve white supremacy. Darrell Glasper is one of them.
