That’s not what the TWO customer service people I spoke to said. They both told me that this was company policy.

@UberEats Uber Eats? Uber is bad enough. We went to the "big city" on the left coast and used Uber two times...it's like hitch hiking was for us at the beach areas in the late '60's/early '70's. Sometimes you get a nice ride, sometimes you want to jump out at the next red signal light.

@UberEats I never use UE. Even take some shit about using Amazon Fresh. But, stuff arrives in reasonable condition, I can go to their stores if need be & they credit more than just an item if something is damaged.
