"Hey Ya!" was written, produced and recorded practically alone by André 3000. He played acoustic guitar, keyboards, programmed the drums and did all the vocals (he just didn't play the bass). The video was inspired by the Beatles' historic performance on the 1964 Ed Sullivan Show.

Send Me just when the show ended Abruptly. The Backlash was immediate, Viewers Flooded CBS with Complaints Demanding Sam Cooke Return! December 1, 1957 Ed Sullivan made it right, Sam he said, Here’s the Time!wearing a Dark suit he stepped up to the microphone with nothing but soft Background Vocals and Sang You Send Me! By the end of the week it was number one. Ed Sullivan had brought him back another night to apologize and said “I did wrong here one night on the Stage” Sam forgave Ed and Then Sang “I Love You”!
