💯 Actually even if you turn on your phone at high altitude, you can't receive any signals at all. Why? Cause out of range except the aircraft systems. Since we can't see the wave of signals going out from your devices, better we turn off or change to flight mode..Cant imagine all the signals from 1 person (3 devices) * 100-150 people inside.. So, It doesn't matter if your devices are cheap or not. It is the matter of interfering with the aircraft's systems during high altitudes.

The answer is sensitive equipment on the airplane such as the radar altimeter. Consumer devices are not affected by small variations they are not sensitive equipment. Radar altimeter measures time between signal bouncing off ground. Any disruption to that wave is dangerous
