How can you blame the van driver A car is already stopped waiting for the van to reverse but along comes an entitled cyclist that thinks he should not have to stop and oblige the van to turn around no no he's going straight on as he is more important

Exactly. The cyclist doesn’t have to stop, as they have what we call in the UK, “right of way”.

@Hugh71Hugh Forgive me if I'm wrong but I pretty sure the van is I the middle of manoeuvre there for all road uses should yield (including bike) I don't understand why people would drive bike or walk behind a reversing van.

@Hugh71Hugh I don’t understand why a van would reverse without making sure it was safe to do so. 🤷♂️

@J_R_DUB @Hugh71Hugh Remarks like that show why cyclists are involved in more and more accidents....Arrogance & entitlement. The law should never have been changed.

@ChaponaBike123 @Hugh71Hugh So what's the law? Should the van yield half way through them maneuvering? @NorfolkPolice any enlightenment please because everything I have read state before the maneuver.

@ChaponaBike123 @Hugh71Hugh @NorfolkPolice I'm referring to the law changes which gave cyclists unheard of rights, reversing decades of good law and common sense driving.

@J_R_DUB @Hugh71Hugh @NorfolkPolice The law never changed. 🤷♂️ There were clarifications to the Highway Code though, as stupid drivers didn’t seem to understand it as written.

Poor show from the cyclist. (I’m a cyclist btw).

What, for cycling lawfully?

@jimmyg73 No you fuckin dumbass, if he was in a car he would pull over and wait for them to turn but cyclists think they own the road the retarded cunts and have main character syndrome

@jimmyg73 Yes. As a car wouldn’t be able to fit through the gap. Obviously. Duh.

@Ukfreedom__ @jimmyg73 So the cyclist should follow the rules of the fucking road and let the vehicle finish its turn or whatever it was doing. Otherwise, the cyclist wouldn't be lucky next time plus the vehicle had the fucking right of way which the cyclist did not, dumbass.

@Ukfreedom__ @jimmyg73 Oh. Because a car can’t fit through, then a cyclist isn’t “allowed” because that’s not fair and Mummy agrees with me. Cry harder.

The cyclist lacked basic manners, how hard would it have been to have stopped/slow down and let the van finish his manoeuvre and then carry on about their day. While taking a nice thank you from the driver as they go about their days feeling good they have helped eachother?

No manners? Oh boo hoo. Why do motorists expect to be treated like royalty ffs?

It's not an expectation, it's just sensible and manners. Big metal object with limited vision in a manoeuvre v small entitled fleshy object that has the ability to be patient for a few seconds. It strikes me you're either a parody account or a prick either way I'm not replying

@ChaponaBike123 You are replying. Henceforth we will call this the Price Paradox.

@ChaponaBike123 I ran out of characters, to write "you anymore." 😂 Such is life. I'm happy to have a paradox named after me though 😂

Wouldn't it have been easier for the cyclist to stop and wait, for what 30 seconds? We as cyclists moan when car drivers can't wait, it works both ways.

What, wait for someone so you can give way to someone that’s supposed to be giving way to you?

@sludge17 Whether or not somebody is entitled to or selfish enough to make a U-turn in the middle of a road, it’s both common courtesy and common sense to let them complete the manoeuvre. Delaying them, by forcing them to wait, holds everybody else up.

@sludge17 Oh the entitlement of motorists expecting others to be courteous to them. Stinks doesn’t it?

@sludge17 In that particular case, the van driver is probably on a schedule, earning a living, and delivering goods. He has limited visibility. No, he shouldn’t be u-turning in the middle of the road like that, but the cyclist was unwise and discourteous to cut behind him.

@sludge17 wtf had “courtesy” got to do with it? It’s not even in the HWC or common law? BTW he’d just dropped off a load of Lime Bikes…

Being a van driver it's amazing the amount of absolute c*nts that try and sneak around in cars and on bikes. Half the time you don't see them until they are right behind you plus if they aren't going to stop so you can manoeuvre what makes you think someone will help you out?

How come you don’t see them? Busy on your mobile phone, or scoffing a bacon sandwich whilst reading The Sun?

Because not every road is straight like in the video. Even the car driver is waiting in the video. Speed that bikes going by time driver has looked that way then the other to check before moving it's very easy not to spot him if he's behind the car

Have you thought about driving lessons?

Have you thought about Hazard perception? Not hard to see what the van is about to do with it being sideways in middle of the road. I mean even the car has stopped.

Sure. Which was why I stopped. 🤷♂️

Whether you think the van is right or wrong the Darwin Award goes to the fucktard cyclist who can see what is happening and puts himself into a dangerous situation

How about fucking stop when you see a vehicle reversing you wankers. All the for views though isn’t it.

but in the case of that cyclist, they failed to show any courtesy.

Oh no. Hope you’re ok hun.

fuck off

Aw. You’re obviously NOT ok then. Run along to Mummy, there’s a good boy.

You’re doing nothing to promote road safety.

You’re doing nothing, involuntarily because you didn’t get the job as a baggage handler you dreamt of lol

I’m sorry but common sense there would be to wait or move onto the path or try to go in front of the van. You are coming up fairly quickly at the back end of the van so he will only see the cyclist for maybe 1-2 seconds if he’s focused on his wing mirror which he won’t be as he’s looking at multiple angles. It’s just stupid to go be behind a van like that mid manoeuvre

Agreed. The van driver clearly wasn’t paying attention, so why take the risk?

as usual, the cyclist is a twat. Putting himself in danger by nipping round the back. It was absolutely obvious the van driver was making a manoeuvre - the car driver noticed and stopped. Cyclist are all wankers

Still here Chaponob 👇

Standard cyclist behaviour, see clear danger and proceed straight to it 🙄

The cyclist didn’t even slow down. What a c*nt. as a driver in London I see this every day. Cyclists putting their lives, and the lives of others, in danger. Selfish selfish wankers.

Don’t disagree but actually the van driver has applied the Highway Code and is mid manuevour. Can’t predict that cyclist to fly past when he would have been in his blind spot. Like if someone walked out behind of the footpath and straight behind the van wouldn’t of been visible

A 3 point turn is 3 separate manoeuvres. But either way the driver should have checked it was clear.

Been a while since I’ve driven a van but this is the point the reverse lights are on. The cyclist can see this and still went without any care my guess would be by the time he checked the blind spot the bike would have been gone so started moving. Maybe he could have waited a sec

@grok do reversing lights give a driver priority?

@shauntippins No, reversing lights indicate a vehicle is reversing but don't grant priority. Per UK Highway Code Rules 200-203, drivers must check all around, reverse slowly, and ensure the path is clear, yielding to pedestrians, cyclists, and other traffic. Safety first!

@ChaponaBike123 @grok What’s your thoughts on Cycling Mikey and the kind of stuff that makes him so popular on social media? Is it a good way to get engagement and monetisation?

Cycling Mikey (Mike van Erp) films drivers breaking rules like phone use and reports them, gaining popularity through viral YouTube videos (over 100k subs) that spark debates on road safety. His content thrives on shock value and accountability, driving high engagement via shares and comments. It's effective for monetization via ads and views, but polarizing—seen as vigilantism by some. Overall, it raises awareness but invites criticism.

The cyclist is a fucking div for going behind a van that’s clearly mid-manoeuvre and you’re just as divvy if you think otherwise.

Yes I get everything you've listed, personally as a cyclist I'd be stopping there allowing the Van driver to complete their manoeuvre.

Bikers fault flying down behind a reversing van absolute dick head

Zero awareness from the dude on the e-bike. Zero.

Don’t be a twat on a bike riding around the back of a van that is clearly doing a 3 point turn.

Why would any idiot cyclists see a van reversing and go behind it . What a nutter.

It takes a certain type of idiot to ride behind a reversing van WTF 😳

If you are cyclist you may think you have right of way But to quote an old air safety poster - it isn’t who is right, but who is left That cyclist nearly became an organ donor because he “knew” he was right

Why are you even still posting you announced that you was leaving ( for the 3rd time) yet here you are why not just leave like you say ? Do you really crave online attention that bad that after a day or two break you get itchy and the shakes like some crackhead wanting the next fix so have to post online ?

Highway code reversing rules for cyclists If you see a van reversing go as fast as you can then when it goes wrong feel free to moan your fucking tits off

Cyclist is an idiot- could clearly see the van was trying to turn- took a big risk and the other cyclist acts all entitled as usual

That rider needs to hand in his bike and take lessons. Maybe try driving a van for a bit instead of being like a moth to a flame. At least your self proclaimed exile didn't last a week. 🙄

Biker should wait till the manoeuvre is completed. He already started long before the biker came in range.

Why, because you say so?

Yes, exactly. Thanks for understanding. Going behind a vehicle that’s clearly in the middle of a manoeuvre is a prime example of FAFO.

Yay. Screw the Highway Code eh?

Vehicles will need to turn every now and then. If they initiate the manoeuvre in a safe manner it’s just common sense for other road users to wait until they finish. But please go ahead and push on through while waving the highway code from your bike, if it makes you feel better. Darwin will take care of you… 😂

While the cyclist may be “in the right” they rode into a developing hazard and put themselves in danger, they could and should have seen what the van driver was trying to do.

Common sense: do not put yourself in a position of danger, especially a very obvious one.

Also, if you have a brain don’t zoom behind a van that’s obviously doing a three point turn, otherwise everyone will know you’re a twat

Common sense how about slowing down and waiting 🙄 And repeat that method when you approach traffic lights

Also, have some sense of self-preservation, and use OAP - observation, anticipation and planning. #HTH

Doesn’t the cyclist have any brakes?

Big white 3.5t van, the cyclist proceeds on
