He is right, hindi was scripted and created to bridge the gap for umpteen prakrit languages of North India . That too by a British linguist. Author Bhartendu Harischandara was the first to use devanagari.

I’ll take this moment to bring to light the work of Prof GN Devy of the People’s Linguistic Survey of India who has single-handedly mobilised the preservation of Indian languages for decades now. His work is worth noting in our homogeneity oriented climate.

No body knows hindi in our family, I myself translate using Google 🤣🤣but all survived bcoz they all knew English and we proudly speak our mother tongue

India is a motley crew of cultural and linguistic identities. Appealing to each identity politically requires careful study and adaption for each group. Destroying this cultural federalism however makes the task supremely easy as there would be just one monolith left to control.
