HINDUS UNDER ATTACK IN BANGLADESH A ‘Joint Task Force’ comprising Army and BGB soldiers carrying lethal arms, along with Police in full riot gear & armed with rifles, swarmed Hazari Gali and other Hindu areas of Chattogram soon after dusk on 5th November, 2024 and launched an indiscriminate crackdown... on the Hindus. The interim government in Bangladesh, which have quite often deceptively asserted that the news regarding persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh are majorly exaggerated, had been left red faced by the show of strength of the Sanatani Community in a rally at Chattogram last month, which left Mohammad Yunus embarrassed and dented his image in the Western World. The attack on Hindus at Chattogram on 5th November and since then had been ordered by Mohammad Yunus in order to teach Hindus a lesson, which is being perceived as a retributive move by his administration. The Joint Task Force broke CCTV cameras to prevent any kind of recording before they looted valuable items such as gold jewelry from Hindu-owned shops and homes, and vandalised Hindu owned properties. More than 200 Hindu men were arrested and there are also apprehensions that some of them may have been shot dead. The atrocities against Bangladeshi Hindus are crossing the limits of tolerance. It seems the new Administration wants to emulate the Nazi regime. It is high time that the Hindus across the world should unite against such barbaric regime, who are violating human rights of the minority Hindu Community everyday. We as concerned neighbors would certainly raise our voices for our Sisters and Brothers of Bangladesh. I would like to urge Hon'ble External Affairs Minister; Shri Dr. S. Jaishankar Ji to kindly take note of the incident and request him to take appropriate steps which may bring some respite to the persecuted Hindu Community of Bangladesh. On 26th December, 2025, 5 Hindu houses were burned in West Dumuritala village, Pirojpur Sadar district, Bangladesh. On 27th December, 2025, Hindu houses were set ablaze in Dumuria Village Pirojpur district Bangladesh. On 12th April, 2025 Hindu houses were put on fire in Betbona village, Murshidabad district, West Bengal. On 16th June, 2025 Hindu shops in Khidirpur area of Kolkata were set on fire. Hindus in Bangladesh have no safety or security from Islamist mobs. Every few days we hear news of Hindu families being attacked by Islamist mobs, or their sons and daughters being attacked violently in public. The crime of the Bengalis in Bangladesh is simply that they are Hindus. That they have held on to the faith of their ancestors. But the situation is not much different in West Bengal either. Far from being the Hindu homeland as was envisioned by Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the Hindus in West Bengal are victims of administrative apartheid. Spurred on by the appeasement politics of Mamata Banerjee’s government, the Islamists have gradually taken away entire areas from the hands of Bengali Hindus. Because of Mamata Banerjee’s appeasement politics, Bengali Hindus have been had their backs pushed to the wall - just like our fellow Hindus in Bangladesh.

Businesses, owned by Hindus were targeted. Fearing torture, Hindu women were hiding in the paddy fields. The woman said in the video, ‘Our village is burning. They destroyed everything. The Muslims of the neighbouring locality are attacking us. Shops are all looted.’ The incident was from #Shonkai village under the #Setabganj Police Station of #Dinajpur district of Bangladesh.

Today, along with revered Hindu Monks, I personally submitted a Deputation at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, in unwavering protest against the brutal murder of our brave Hindu brother, Dipu Das, at the hands of fundamentalist mob in Mymensingh, and the relentless atrocities being unleashed on innocent Hindus in Bangladesh. The blood of Dipu Das cries out for justice. From mob violence to Temple desecrations and the systematic persecution of Hindus must end NOW. With roots deeply intertwined with the shared heritage of our subcontinent, I stand in solidarity with the Hindu Community of Bangladesh. We will not remain silent while fanaticism tears at the fabric of humanity, across the border. The Government of Bangladesh must act decisively against the perpetrators of the horrific crimes.

Today, I along with thousands in Kolkata marched to the Bangladesh High Commission, raising our voices against this barbarity and the relentless persecution of Hindus. A young life snuffed out, beaten, burned, and discarded like trash, while the world watches in silence. No justice, just pure hatred !!! To Dipu's family, we mourn with you and pray that Maa Kali gives you the strength to fight until justice prevails. Yet, when Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh are being genocidally persecuted simply for being Hindu, not even 110 protest and condemnation meetings have been held. It shows the extraordinary levels of Hindu apathy and indifference towards the gencoide and religious persecution of their own. Its nothing new. It had happened in Kashmir which is in our own country, India. It happened and has been happenig elsewhere. The Hindu unmove and mass lemming syndrome is the bigger tragedy than the tragedy of Hindu genocide. As scheduled, the Protest Meeting against Hindu Genocide in Bangladesh was held in the Constitution Club, New Delhi by Dr. Vijay Jolly Ji, President of Delhi Study Group in the august presence of Pujya Jain Muni Dr Lokesh Acharya Ji and Sri Alok Kumar Sr. Advocate, International President of Vishva Hindu Parishad -VHP, and other prominent persons. Appreciation to Dr Vijay Jolly Ji for this initiatve. The response was overwhelming with 300 particpiants and the hall was overflowing. A few diplomats too attended the meeting and took down notes. Tulsi Gabbard, who will be the Director of National Intelligence under Trump, introduced a resolution in the US Congress in 2021 for the protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh; she strongly criticized the Pakistan Army for the atrocities committed against Hindu minorities in 1971. Her statement is as follows: As a member of Congress, I introduced a resolution that called for the protection of Hindus and religious minorities in Bangladesh—people who continue to be targeted and persecuted to this day. Now, the height of this persecution actually began 50 years ago when the Pakistani army systematically murdered, raped, and drove from their homes millions of Bengali Hindus because of their religion and ethnicity. March 25th, 1971, was the beginning of a systematic targeting of Hindus in Bangladesh by the Pakistani military. It began in Hindu neighborhoods and villages, first at Jaganath Hall, which was a Hindu dormitory in Dhaka University, where 5,000 to 10,000 people were killed. On that first night alone, this genocidal campaign continued for 10 months, resulting in 2 to 3 million people killed, hundreds of thousands of women and girls raped, and more than 10 million forced to flee their homes. US Senator Ted Kennedy went to visit the Bangladeshi refugees at that time and said, quote, "Nothing is more clear or more easily documented than the systematic campaign of terror and its genocidal consequences launched by the Pakistan army on the night of March 25th. Hardest hit have been members of the Hindu community who have been robbed of their lands and shops, systematically slaughtered, and in some places, painted with yellow patches marked with an H." End of quote. The Islamist persecution of Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh didn't end with Bangladesh's independence. That campaign continues to this day with horrific targeted attacks, murders, homes being burned down, and families who continue to be forced to flee. In the early 1900s, Hindus made up roughly 33% of Bangladesh's population. Because of this persistent Islamist campaign targeting Hindus, just 8% of Bangladesh's population are Hindus today. Just a few days ago in Bangladesh, hundreds of hardline Islamist extremists attacked Hindu temples, destroyed a train, set fire to government buildings at the press club and public buses, leaving dead and injured behind. Unfortunately, the Islamists' campaign of terror against Hindus, other religious minorities, secularists, atheists, and others in Bangladesh is not unique. It's been going on for centuries, prior to US regime change wars in Iraq, Libya, and Syria, which either toppled or weakened secular authoritarian leaders who protected religious minorities from Islamist jihadists. There were 1.5 million Christians in Iraq and 2.2 million in Syria. Now there are an estimated 200,000 to 300,000 Christians in Iraq and 450,000 in Syria. Afghanistan was a very multireligious country, which included Hindus, Buddhists, and Zoroastrians, prior to the Islamist takeover. Today, it is estimated there are around 1,000 Hindus who remain. Religious minorities make up less than 1% of Afghanistan's population. Until the leaders of the United States and the world condemn and commit to defeating the Islamist exclusivist ideology—an ideology which holds that all non-Muslims and many so-called "heretical" Muslims need to be wiped from the face of the earth, enslaved, or at the very least kept as second-class citizens without the right to own land, worship openly, etc.—like in Pakistan, the jihadist campaign of terror will continue throughout the world. Tulsi Gabbard, who will be the Director of National Intelligence under Trump, introduced a resolution in the US Congress in 2021 for the protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh; she strongly criticized the Pakistan Army for the atrocities committed against Hindu minorities in 1971. Her statement is as follows: As a member of Congress, I introduced a resolution that called for the protection of Hindus and religious minorities in Bangladesh—people who continue to be targeted and persecuted to this day. Now, the height of this persecution actually began 50 years ago when the Pakistani army systematically murdered, raped, and drove from their homes millions of Bengali Hindus because of their religion and ethnicity. March 25th, 1971, was the beginning of a systematic targeting of Hindus in Bangladesh by the Pakistani military. It began in Hindu neighborhoods and villages, first at Jaganath Hall, which was a Hindu dormitory in Dhaka University, where 5,000 to 10,000 people were killed. On that first night alone, this genocidal campaign continued for 10 months, resulting in 2 to 3 million people killed, hundreds of thousands of women and girls raped, and more than 10 million forced to flee their homes. US Senator Ted Kennedy went to visit the Bangladeshi refugees at that time and said, quote, "Nothing is more clear or more easily documented than the systematic campaign of terror and its genocidal consequences launched by the Pakistan army on the night of March 25th. Hardest hit have been members of the Hindu community who have been robbed of their lands and shops, systematically slaughtered, and in some places, painted with yellow patches marked with an H." End of quote. The Islamist persecution of Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh didn't end with Bangladesh's independence. That campaign continues to this day with horrific targeted attacks, murders, homes being burned down, and families who continue to be forced to flee. In the early 1900s, Hindus made up roughly 33% of Bangladesh's population. Because of this persistent Islamist campaign targeting Hindus, just 8% of Bangladesh's population are Hindus today. Just a few days ago in Bangladesh, hundreds of hardline Islamist extremists attacked Hindu temples, destroyed a train, set fire to government buildings at the press club and public buses, leaving dead and injured behind. It was an honour to stand with the Hindu community today, and I am proud of the thousands of people who came out in Toronto to send a message to the world. We see the genocidal violence from Jamaat e Islami/Muslim Brotherhood groups in Bangladesh, and we know that this ideology is also here in Canada. That is why it is important to speak up now, or else in 10 years the Hindus of Bangladesh will have to be on the streets to protect the Hindus of Canada. #AllEyesonBangladesh #SaveBangladeshiHindus
