Does this also apply to deadlifts? Would wide stance (sumo) deadlifts be better for someone like Ed? Thanks!

The wider you go the more you activate hamstrings and glutes. Better to work on mobility and do both, especially if you have trouble activating quads on squat and need to use a narrower stance.

What implications does this have on athleticism? In my experience those that have a deep squat in a narrow stance are more athletic
