Gelje Sherpa was taking a private client up Mt. Everest when he noticed someone dying just 500 meters from the summit. So he ran over, wrapped him in a sleeping mattress, gave him oxygen, put him on his back, and hiked him 6 hours down the mountain to safety.

Be careful

@historyinmemes Thank you for this. I feel as if I’m there. I now never have to actually make the trek!

@historyinmemes A 360° camera view from the top of Mt Everest

@historyinmemes You can see the curvature!

@historyinmemes Size Comparison of Solar System mountains.

@historyinmemes The solar system's tallest mountain is possibly the Olympus Mons on Mars with an altitude of 21.9 to 26 km. It roughly covers an area of 300,000 km², in this video is compared with France.

@historyinmemes A beautiful view from the summit. They need to engineer a chairlift to go from base camp to the summit in heated, pressurized gondolas. Thousands could then reach the summit of Everest without the nuisance of stepping over corpses and tons of debris.

@historyinmemes From here, the roundness of the planet can be understood much more easily when looking at the horizon.
