As many of y'all know my mother is a card carrying communist who worked as an AFL-CIO union steward so I grew up around those commies and remember all of them RAGING against "immigrants who would take their jobs" when I was a kid. Once a prosperous, food-exporting nation with functioning institutions, Zimbabwe has collapsed into the ranks of Africa’s poorest countries, marked by hyperinflation, corruption, land seizures, and economic ruin. This pattern explains much of Africa’s persistent poverty: too many nations have rejected the principles and institutions that generate wealth, choosing instead the socialist and communist policies that destroy it. Colonialism has become a convenient scapegoat, yet the deeper failure lies in the inability to maintain, even sustain, the prosperity and order that colonial structures left behind.
