Watching the Zambia 🇿🇲 – Ghana 🇬🇭 fugu banter, I realised it was never really about the cloth. What Ghana defended so strongly and with such unwavering confidence, was not just fashion, but heritage and a clear sense of who they are as a people. That reaction quietly exposes something about us too. Sometimes it feels like we either have not fully defined our own cultural identity, or we do not carry it with the same pride and certainty. Not because we lack history, but because we have not yet agreed on what binds us together beyond tribe, politics, geography etc. To our good people of Ghana 🇬🇭, please don’t take offense. This was just a friendly cultural appreciation. In many ways, it was a lesson in what it looks like when a nation truly knows itself. 🇬🇭🤝🇿🇲

In 1956, British Togoland's people voted on joining independent Ghana or remaining separate; 58% chose Ghana, forming the Volta Region on March 6, 1957. Many Ewe wanted to stay separate to reunite with family in French Togoland.That vote never fully settled. Calls for a separate Western Togoland still surface today. The Ewe people have a profound history in this region: their escape from tyrannical rule in Notsie is commemorated annually at the Hogbetsotso Festival. This celebration also recognizes their unique kente tradition, Agbamevo, which has been woven along the Volta River since the 17th century. Africa's borders were established during the colonial era by European powers. The continent's future direction and identity are still being determined by its people.

With a heart weighed down by sorrow, I have received official confirmation from the family of Charles Kwadwo Fosu, confirming the passing of our beloved Daddy Lumba. This is more than a personal loss; it’s an irreplaceable wound to the very soul of Ghana. He was the voice of the Ghanaian story. In our moments of joy, his music lifted us. Something is seriously going on in Ghana, but many people have not yet realized the potential danger. A section of Muslims and some Imams are increasingly embracing or promoting Wahhabist teachings, and this development deserves serious attention from our security and intelligence agencies. I am not saying that every Muslim or every Imam subscribes to this ideology. Ghana has millions of peaceful Muslims who have lived with other religious communities for generations. My concern is specifically about the spread of extremist interpretations that can promote intolerance, hatred, violence or rejection of Ghana's constitutional order. If we fail to identify and address genuine signs of violent extremism early, Ghana could face serious security challenges in the years ahead. We must not wait until we experience the kind of insurgency and terrorism that has devastated parts of Northern Nigeria before taking preventive action. This is a national-security warning, not an attack on an entire religion. The campaign has ended, but the mission remains. We must wrest control of our country away from the corporations and back into the hands of people. On our second day in India, our delegation travelled by road to visit the Taj Mahal, a journey that was truly worth every moment. As the Taj Mahal came into view, you could hear the collective “wow” from our delegation, a moment that captured just how breathtaking the experience truly was. Standing before one of the Seven Wonders of the World, we were all struck by its beauty, history, and the remarkable craftsmanship that has endured through generations. We also had the opportunity to visit the nearby village, home to descendants of the original builders, who continue to care for and preserve the site today. It was a powerful reminder of how heritage is passed down, protected with pride, and kept alive through responsibility and stewardship. My sincere thanks to our tour guides for thoughtfully bringing this history to life and enriching the experience for us all.

Rugova emphasizes that the true name of this region has historically been Dardania, a name that reflects the true identity and heritage of Kosovo, belonging to the Albanians, the only indigenous people of these lands. It should also be noted that the Serbs came to these lands from the Carpathian region, challenging the indigenous people who had lived in these territories for centuries, relying on a falsified history of Serbia. Over the centuries, they have tried to eliminate the documentation and facts of the Albanian people, even appropriating their monuments, which served as irrefutable evidence to validate Albanian history. This was done with the aim of making their propaganda work, a propaganda that often contradicts itself. Such a falsified history is proof of a mentality that seeks to deny the truth and impose a foreign narrative. People who appropriate the history of another nation have no love for their own heritage, and this is, undoubtedly, a tragic reality.
