Jack Harlow speaks on why he decided to make an R&B album: “I had been recording a project for 2 years after ‘Jackman’ and it wasn’t exciting me, I didn’t feel like I was working on something that would surprise people. I took a few weeks off because I was getting to a point where I was dreading going to the studio…I thought about what I actually want to do, what would intrigue me? It struck me that I wanted to do something a little more ego-less. Individuality is what appeals to me more [than celebrity]. I’m looking to carve out my own island and I’m less concerned with how immediately big I can make that island…I’m focusing on the artistry.”

JJ Redick says he sold his entire watch collection after realizing his possessions were starting to possess him “I sold everything, man.” “You ever heard the phrase, ‘Your possessions shouldn’t possess you’?” “I got to a place with watches where it was an all-consuming thing.” “I have an obsessive and addictive personality. When I’m really into something, I just go all out on it.” “It was taking up too much of my time.” “It got to the point where I’m like, ‘Yo, this is such a selfish pursuit.’” “No one’s getting any enjoyment out of this except me.” “My wife isn’t benefiting from this. My kids aren’t. My friends aren’t.” “I’m the only person wearing the watches.”

I’m in a really bad spot right now. Here’s a personal update; as well as a bit of a rant about weight loss. I’m sorry for all of the low points lately, I really want to get to a point where I can enjoy this journey again. #weightlossjourney

Very well deserved to see Larry June this high on Billboard, independent. He spoke on his come up in 2024: “I’m just so thankful because I really had to put in each brick to get where I am… I did a show in Houston, there was like 3 people in that mf. But I still did it, I gave it my all…This was my only way out and I love making music.”

T.I. stopped by The Breakfast Club to discuss his 12th and final album, Kill the King* 👑 He explained why he decided to make it his last project and reflected on the journey that brought him to this stage of his career: “It’s time. Just remembering where I was as a kid and just requesting songs on the radio, waiting to see my favorite video, buying the Source magazine…praying for an opportunity to be in the game. Going from that kid then to this man now, I got everything I prayed for”

One of the most exciting parts of this project was playing it for some of my favorites and their incredible spirit motivated me to put this out. I remember playing this for Wizkid, and he was like, “Hey, you’ve got to put this out.” — DJ Spinal on his New project ❤️

Had to give this its own post. Excuse me while I ramble … Been thinking a lot about what Jamie Lee Curtis asked - what does it mean to me to be respected in my line of work? Honestly? I’m shocked I was able to keep it together on the spot to give a coherent response that I actually feel pretty good about but now that I’ve had more time to sit with it - being respected means everything because I know the work I’m putting out is truly me. It took me time to find my voice in this space and to pinpoint what I wanted to bring to it. When I found it, I didn’t let it go. There’s endless pressure nudging journalists in one direction or another, and yes, we all have to evolve and adapt a bit, but when I figured out the key values that were guiding my compass most, those became a non-negotiable guiding light. So the idea of being respected really does mean the world because I’m just being myself, doing work I genuinely love and take great pride in.

Google Antigravity is pretty amazing. Yesterday, while working on a project, I had no idea how to set up Firestore. I just told Antigravity what my Cloud project was, and it handled the rest. From opening the URL and selecting the project to configuring everything.

You have to respect Davey Grant's approach to the fight game at this stage of his career: "I’m not delusional—I don’t think I’m going to get in there and make a title run. Look, if that happens—if I go out and knock out the next three in quick fights—maybe we can start talking about it. But I’m building a legacy of exciting fights, which is what I want to be known for. I’m trying to make as much money as I can for my family before I retire, so I can invest and try to bring everyone on."

My sophomore album Faded Polaroids is out now🎞️🖤 This record feels like opening a box of old photos — some crisp, some faded with time. From Appalachia to everywhere I’ve been since, this is about the journey — where I come from, where I’m going, and everything in between.

Greg Oden says losing basketball helped him find himself “It is enough. Don’t get me wrong, I would love $100,000,000 in the bank account. But right now, we got a beautiful home. My daughter just graduated fourth grade. My wife’s doing her thing.” “When I really had to assess myself, I really started realizing, and I was intentional about this when I retired, trying to figure out who I was. Everything was always about the sport.” “But then when it was taken away from me, who am I? I didn’t even know what I liked. If I take alcohol and partying out of the equation, and basketball, I’m literally a newborn baby again. So I really sat down and figured out, what are some things that I like?” “I had to assess myself, and I realized I was a mentor. I really like doing this. I really like talking. I really like helping the younger generation, or even helping others.” “For the past seven years, I’ve been teaching financial literacy to athletes. I enjoy doing stuff like that.” “Now I’m trying to get in the public speaking space because my story is not a basketball story. It’s a life story.” “I’m fulfilled in everything that I’m doing right now, but I know there’s more to come.”

The only project I have to deliver to the people of Delta state is how to deliver mr President in 2027. It is what I have that I can give and this is what I have. This is coming from an Elected Governor😭

I never really got to explain this journal clearly so I’m going to start being transparent, this journal was gifted to me in October of last year when I started to learn how clothes are made. I decided to document everything I’ve been learning by writing and putting Polaroids in it. I’ve carried this with me ever since and what I have started doing is scanning the pages and putting them online for anyone else learning about clothing. I’m grateful for who I’ve met and what I’m continuously learning. I feel like I need to share it with you guys.

I’ve just been feeling really grateful lately. Life is not where I want it to be yet. I’m still trying to figure things out. I’m still working, still trying, still hoping things get better. But when I stop and really think about everything I’ve been through, I’m proud of myself. There were so many times I didn’t know how I was going to get through something, but somehow, I did. I’m still here. I’m still dreaming. I’m still building my life. And honestly, that means a lot to me. I’m so grateful for every person who has supported me, checked on me, helped me, donated, shared my story, or simply reminded me that I’m not alone. I never expected some of the love I’ve received, and I’ll always be grateful for it. I don’t have everything figured out. I don’t have everything I want yet. But I believe things will get better. I believe in myself. And I know that one day, I’m going to look back at this version of me and say, “Girl, we really went through it.” 😂 Then I’ll look at my life and say, “But look at you now.” I’m proud of me. I’m grateful to still be here. And I truly believe I’ve got this. 🤍
