Story time! 😭 I’m still shocked. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na nabigyan ako ng ganitong opportunity to perform on stage with the hitman, Mr. David Foster. So pag akyat ko ng stage dapat mag soundcheck na ako for my spot, pero nagulat ako Sir David is playing the piano. Then he ask me kung suot ko na inears ko kasi pwede daw namin itry yung song. Nagulat ako sabi ko sa utak ko “what song?” So na pa “huh” ako then sabi niya all by myself give it a try daw. Bilang lutang ako sa sobrang gulat kinanta ko lang siya kung pano ko siya kinakanta. After iplay yung arrangement nung song sabi niya “do you want to perform this song tonight?” nasabi ko nalang “if it’s ok with you sir” biglang BOOOM ayun na ang nangyare 😭 Para akong nag audition talaga. Namanifest ko yata. Grabe ‘yung kaba ko. Akala ko pinatry nya lang sa’kin. Syempre sino na naman ako para tumanggi diba? Minsan lang yung ganong pagkakataon kaya Binigay ko talaga yung best ko. Out of the 24 jeepney drivers, I always make sure not to cry hearing their stories, but this one… this was the time that I could not control my emotions and tears anymore… Hearing his story really broke my heart. I still remember when we gave him the rice, he said, “Salamat ma’am, dadalhin ko po ito pauwi sa Martes.” I was confused, why Tuesday? Bakit hindi mamayang gabi pag uwi? And then I found out that he goes home to Laguna once a week to save money, and what really broke my heart is that he sleeps in his jeep at night just to have some rest… and from earning 1k, naging 300 na lang? Hindi ko talaga napigilan sarili ko. Ang sakit lang isipin na ganito yung reality ng iba na kailangan nilang tiisin yung pagod, gutom, at lungkot just to survive and provide for their family. Yung simpleng bagay para sa atin, sobrang laki na para sa kanila. It made me realize how blessed we are and how important it is to continue helping in any way we can. Hindi lang ito about giving, but also about understanding their struggles and being present for them kahit sa maliit na paraan. That moment will stay with me. It reminded me why we do this, why we should never stop, and what kind of community we are.

Development containers are awesome, especially when you can swap the hardware running your environment without changing a single thing. Apparently, I've been living under a rock because I didn't know about this. I recorded a 3-min video to show you Gitpod Flex running on my laptop. This takes less than 5 minutes to configure and run. Here is a quick summary: 1. One click to run any of my GitHub projects in a container, isolated from everything else. 2. I can use Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, Cursor, or any other IDE that supports development containers. 3. I don't have to mess up with my computer anymore (or have 17 versions of Python installed) ← this alone is awesome! 4. I can spin up a runner in AWS with my dev container and have access to any hardware I want while developing. 5. I can configure one-click buttons to run services and tasks I need every day. 6. I can share the environment with anyone on my team. I left this for the end, but I know this is one of the most important features of Gitpod Flex: They built a zero-trust architecture to manage these development environments. This is huge for those working at companies where security is crucial. Below is the link with an explanation of how they built their architecture. A’TIN gets villainized over and over again, but I refuse to believe that’s who we are. No fandom is perfect. We have our flaws too. But you’ll never convince me that this community is defined by toxicity because time and time again, I’ve seen more kindness than hate. 🩵 This is the A’TIN community I know 💠 My younger cousin made her own lightstick out of boxes and paper because that’s all she had. I posted it on TikTok, and not long after, a Berry 🍓 reached out to me. She said she wanted to give my cousin her extra lightstick. I remember asking, “Are you sure?” because I didn’t want her to go out of her way for us. She replied, “No problem. I just want to make her happy.” 😭😩 Can you imagine that? She didn’t know us. We weren’t friends. She didn’t owe us anything. Yet she chose kindness anyway. And this is not an isolated story. A’TIN has organized donation drives, supported local businesses, raised funds for communities in need, cared for the environment, and shown up for one another in ways that often go unnoticed. Teh?? May nagkakabitan pa nga ng eyelash extensions. May nagdadala ng pansit para di magutom sa pila ang kapwa nila a’tin. This is the community SB19 built. The kind of people who are willing to give something valuable to a complete stranger without expecting anything in return. And you want me to believe they’re defined by toxicity? 8 years ago, my Dad was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon cancer and last night he gave me the surprise of a lifetime that will go down as one of my most cherished memories on #HockeyFightsCancer night 💜 To those battling cancer, You are not alone. To those who know someone in a battle, reach out to them as they embark on life’s hardest fight; a text, a call, or a letter can make the biggest difference, even though it may seem small. My Dad is living proof that love, positivity, and support give us all the best chance to eradicate cancer. Thank you to the entire Utah Mammoth organization and the NHL for making this possible, it’s a moment that we as a family will never forget. There’s no one in this world I’m more proud of than my Dad, as he continues to be a beacon of hope that one day we can all say, “Hockey Beats Cancer” 💜

7 Reasons I Love Full Hex Squats! 1. Step-ups and split-squats on some sort of podium have already been go-tos for me for the past 15 years of knee rehab and coaching, and anyone can access these for free or dirt cheap. 2. Not everyone wants to jump into barbell squats. My parents maintain bodyweight. I advise young athletes to master one leg at a time first. Both user-friendly from this. 3. Sophomore year of high school I injured my neck from being pushed into heavy barbell squats. Full hex squat allows you to build some upper back first. 4. My best friend in high school broke his back while maxing out barbell squats. Spent the next year in a metal brace. When your legs can’t handle a full hex squat, you’re in a DEADLIFT, not a GOODMORNING. Deadlift has way easier leverage, so you’re way safer. 5. Hex squat isn’t as good for lower back building, but for me, my parents, and my teenage students, back extension is already my go-to to build lower back muscles at higher reps BEFORE worrying about max loads. (To be clear: 1-5 above are amazing PREP/HELPERS for barbell squats if you so desire!) 6. If a young person does want to see their peak strength, a regular hex deadlift is a very safe and accurate option. 7. Hyped to announce I’ll be a judge for the first-ever shark tank in the sky on Redacted Airways, powered by redactedcoin Thanks to shan Sak 🔴 kemuri and PG team for including me on this. It’s a perfect way to polish your pitch as a founder and get feedback but also hone your ability to respond to questions on the “fly” ✈️ Some of the best feedback and experiences in raising money and talking to investors for my ventures has been those pitch sessions. Most importantly it’s the questions you don’t have the answer to and makes you think. Many times that reframes your context by learning how others perceive your team / market / idea. For example when we were raising money for Acompli (18mo later acquired by Microsoft) one investor who passed made it clear our approach of mobile first wouldn’t lead to enterprise deals. This pushed us as founders to try to validate that early. We did and signed a 7 figure deal in the first year with the federal government to power mobile email for two 3-letter agencies. Felt good to land that deal but more importantly was a key differentiator in separating us from the more than 50 other “mobile email” apps. Today Acompli lives on as Microsoft Outlook mobile. $Today was an unbelivable achievement. I will remember my 30th birthday🥲 Surrounded by friends in spirit & in person, family, my beautiful community in chat, on all socials etc 3K+ Subs in one day also is fucking shocking. I can't even process. I cried multiple times, people telling me that I've saved them, changed their life & and shifting their entire perspetcive on life. I will continue to take these comments & thoughts to heart till the day I die. I have always wanted to be a "Goku" or a "Sonic". Since I was a kid that was my dream. The silly high energy guy that everyone can look upto and love, cuz those are the character framings that inspired me, and I wanna give even a fraction, of that energy to people. I love u all SO SO SO MUCH. I feel so close to everyone in my life that I've ever interacted with or has supported me even for a second. in my single digit years, I had a beautiful childhood. My teen years were when I became inspired & figured out what I loved, in my 20's I achieved my dreams, and now in my 30's, I want to simply bring my positive voice to EVERY single person I can reach.
