RFK Jr & HHS Find Systemic Disregard For Sanctity Of Life In Organ Transplant System: "Hospitals allowed the organ procurement process to begin when patients showed signs of life & this is horrifying!" July 21, 2025— The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the leadership of Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced a major initiative to begin reforming the organ transplant system following an investigation that revealed disturbing practices by a major organ procurement organization. The investigation was prompted by the troubling case of Anthony Thomas Hoover, 36, hospitalized four years ago in Kentucky for a drug overdose. He was unresponsive for two days & his family consented to remove life support so his organs could be harvested, after being approached & counseled by an organ procurement organization (OPO). Network For Hope, the OPO, began the process of procuring his organs even though Anthony seemed to be improving. He then awoke & began “thrashing on the bed” & was subsequently sedated. Hospital staff became “uncomfortable with the amount of reflexes” the patient was exhibiting & some began to call his organ procurement procedure “euthanasia,” though representatives of the OPO procurement group told them it was not. One Physician finally stopped the surgery & Hoover survived, albeit with malicious damage already done. Investigations revealed 103 patients not classified properly, 73 patients who were neurologically alive & more than 28 patients were alive when organ procurement surgery began. The HHS investigation revealed that some OPOs actively seek cardiac, or circulatory, death donors rather than brain death ones. The classification of circulatory death involves patients who are typically comatose & on life support. These individuals retain brain function but are deemed unlikely to recover based on medical assessments, which can involve the subjective judgment of the doctors. A coma patient or someone on a ventilator who is fully alive within, can be pronounced as "cardiac or circulatory death" & organs harvested to be sold for transplants. There are serious questions surrounding organ donations that result from the determination of circulatory death, or called “cardiac determination.” There is no uniform time clinicians must wait after the heart stops. Hospitals establish the amount of time that can pass before clinicians can determine someone has circulatory death, generally around five minutes. In some of these cases, “the extraction of the organs is actually the cause of death” for the patient. Anti competitive practices are harming patients in Austin right now and I am asking Congress for help. Insurance companies decide where my patients are permitted to have surgery. They have refused to recognize my surgery center @redbudsurgerycenter as in network, even though it is fully certified by CMS, meets all safety standards, and is often a safer environment for complex cancer surgeries. My ask to Congress is simple. Allow doctors and patients to choose where surgery is performed. Pre existing arrangements that force care into specific facilities are anti competitive and not in the best interest of patients. This week my breast cancer patients needed surgery and were unable to receive care because of insurance. Cancer does not wait. If we want to talk about cracking down on insurance company practices, this is the place to start. What you can do right now: - Call your insurance company and ask for Redbud Surgery Center to be considered in network so we can take care of our patients. -Call your member of Congress and ask them to require insurance companies to allow doctors and patients to choose the facility where care is delivered, especially when patient safety is at risk. This is how change starts 💪

What you can do right now: - Call your insurance company and ask for Redbud Surgery Center to be considered in network so we can take care of our patients. -Call your member of Congress and ask them to require insurance companies to allow doctors and patients to choose the facility where care is delivered, especially when patient safety is at risk. My name is Dr Chris Day. I have been fighting an NHS whistleblowing case for the last 10 years and the case is still showing no signs of being over. The London South Employment Tribunal have allowed the NHS to turn what should have been a straightforward whistleblowing case, lodged by a doctor in 2015 into a circus that is still ongoing in 2025. These antics have cost the taxpayer over a million pounds and prevented serious patient safety issues being dealt with and has also damaged other doctors' legal whistleblowing protection. The way this case has been handled has not been done in private, large numbers of NHS staff and patients have read the papers and attended my hearings At the Royal Society of Medicine, I attempted in 15 minutes to explain my 10 year jungle of a whistleblowing case which you can see clip of on the below video (full talk here).
