I'm not a 3d modeler. I barely know how to open blender let alone do anything functional in it. But with the siddharth ahuja blender MCP and Claude I was able to vibe code an entire environment for my upcoming grow a garden game in Portals Claude used the MCP to assemble and arrange every single asset in this space (i literally don't even know how to import an asset into blender lol) within the spawn of a few hours and with access to a folder of low poly assets. When I had it start doing its own modeling, it even matched the style of the environment to keep things consistent If you are building UGC games and you don't know anything about modeling or design like me, you gotta try it out...

Here's a rough draft demonstration of how the Blender Compositor Lines addon works, and how I made those lines. This shows how setup and the actual workflow goes. It isn't hard to get results, but the tool is extremely open ended by design, and so can get complicated! This is also why it isn't out quite yet, because there's a lot to cover in the documentation and guides. But it is close!

I think I've written the world's fastest Blender exporter. It exports full levels in 9 milliseconds. Check out this video where I show live editing of levels from blender, and it updates instantly in the game. For some context: Okay, since the beginning of development on this game project, I knew I didn't want to write a custom level editor for it and rather spend my time programming the game. I decided to use blender as the level editor, and export directly from blender to my game engine's file format. Blender only lets you write add-ons in Python, which is not just incredibly slow but also a terrible platform for this kind of systems programming work. So, after having a Python exporter for the longest time, I decided enough was enough, and I programmed this exporter in C. Blender doesn't expose any C API or interface. So my only option was to download Blender's source code and insert my code directly into Blender. And that's what I did :) So this new C exporter not only is orders of magnitude faster than the python version, but also is way more robust. And because I'm in C land, my hands are much freer to do things. There are two elements of secret sauce that make this exporter run so fast: - A custom memory arena implementation. - Lockless multithreading.

Ran a lot more tests with Tripo P2.0 - and I think this has to become standard practice for 3D artists. ⚡ About 95% of the mesh comes out great. There are still spots I'd want to fix, but you can't deny it's good. But that's exactly the pipeline I see now: generate it, open it in Blender, spend few minutes in RetopoFlow on the few places that need it — and you have a professional mesh. Actually five minutes total! And I'm still not over the logical separation. Every part comes out as its own object. Recorded this one inside Blender so you can actually see the wireframe and the quads.

I’m up to just under two minutes but I started at less than 30 seconds. Give it a ‘hang’ and when you’re shocked at how hard it is, well, just hang in there. Repeat weekly. Seedance 2.0 is insane. Blender previs is having a moment in AI filmmaking for a reason. I wanted to see how far I could push the workflow beyond a simple camera move in an ambush scene. The workflow: 1. Make a start image in Midjourney 2. Block it out in Blender, animate the camera 3. Feed both to Seedance The more I test this pipeline, the more convinced I am that hybrid pipelines are the future. The conversation is moving fast but previs is one of the clearest unlocks so far. Seedance still isn't perfect at matching the reference but it's close. You can experiment with staging, timing, and camera movement before you ever touch the video model. Solve the scene before you generate the shot.

You just add butter, sugar, milk, eggs, shredded coconut, flour, and vanilla, blend it all together, pour it into a pie pan, bake and refrigerate. That’s it. No mixing bowls, no complicated steps. The guy in the video was pretty skeptical at first, but once it came out of the oven and he saw how it turned out, he was genuinely surprised. Would you try this retro blender pie?

My walk by the canal this evening and I thought you might be interested to see a lock. I realised that some of you might never have seen one and I know everyone is fascinated as to how they work. Locks are a way for boats to go up hill or downhill. Without them, there would be waterfalls and a narrowboat can’t do those. If I were sailing my boat from where I’m walking in this video, I’d need to open the paddles with my windlass to let all of the water out. Once the water was out of the lock, I could open one gate (a narrowboat exactly fits through just one gate) and sail into the lock. I’d then close the gate and walk to the other end of the lock as I do in this video. I’d open the paddles at these gates and the water would now flow into the lock and my boat would rise up as the lock filled with water. Once it was full, I’d open a gate and sail out. A very simple system, but very clever. P.S. I have employed a swan to carry my video camera for these videos, as the duck I first employed couldn’t handle the weight of the camera and kept crashing into the water. The swan is better but as you’ll see at the beginning of the video, he’s so big that he crashes straight through the tree branches. There is a lot more training required and he was told off and debriefed after this video was made.
