I think I have a theory on how Ash gets his strength. Electrical Muscle Stimulation. I believe from all the times Ash gets shocked by Pikachu and not die, his strength is increased by 10-15% and with all the walking and traveling. Pikachu was training Ash as he trained him.

Well Ash had every right to do so. There is a pissed off Lugia because it got seperated from its kid, that doctor forcefully inflicts rage on Pokémon to make them stronger with an dumb device and then his Pikachu was getting that stupid device that does that as well.
