🚨Homeowner handcuffed for potential arson -- it was a fog machine not a felony. Halloween 2024, Monongalia County, WV. Homeowner Will Arthur ran a fog machine at his house as a Halloween prop. Neighbors thought the house was on fire and called 911. Firefighters and a sheriff’s deputy showed... up. Arthur told them it was just a fog machine and refused entry — there was no fire. Certain he was faced with either arson, insurance fraud or even a deceased person inside, the deputy stopped seeing a homeowner and started seeing a criminal. He wouldn't let it go. I remember when I was young, around 10-11 years old. My parents were both asleep as was my brother. I heard a knock on the back door which was weird because who uses the back door at a stranger’s house? The kitchen window was close by so I take a look. It looked like a teenager but hard to tell because they had a hoodie with the hood up. I didn’t open the door but I did crack the window and asked them what they wanted. They replied they were lost and wanted to come in to warm up and use the phone. Even when it’s daylight I know never to let anybody in period that I didn’t know, but a stranger after midnight was weird enough. I said no because I didn’t know them. Then they said that hey knew my dad and that’s why he came by. I said that’s fine and all but I’m not letting you use our phone. This was before cellphones were widely used, we had a landline like most people. The person wouldn’t take no for an answer and I could sense he was getting angry. I went and woke up my dad, I told him there was somebody at the back door and that he said they knew him. He walked to the door and looked out and said he didn’t know him. But he did talk through the door and told him that he was calling the police and that he should just leave. The person just stood there until the police finally came and even they asked him what he was doing knocking on the door at that hour. He told them he was lost and thought this was a house of a family friend. The police told him my dad didn’t know him and made him leave. So was this a case of wrong house or was he up to something. It makes me still wonder to this day but I’m still glad I never opened the door.

NEW: Florida deputy shot while responding to a call where a man allegedly shot someone who was clearing out their own lot. The incident started when a man and a woman called 911, claiming someone was harassing them. While on the phone with a dispatcher, the caller was shot by the suspect, Aaron Rodriguez. The man collapsed and later died. When police arrived, they found Rodriguez in a nearby house where a gunfight ensued. "The suspect then shoots an innocent person. He then shoots another innocent person. He then goes into his garage and when deputies order him to drop his gun, he doesn’t," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said. "If you play with glass, you’re going to get cut. If you point a gun at a Pasco deputy, you’re going to get shot and that’s what happened today. There are no apologies. There’s no sympathy. He got shot, and I feel horrible for the victims." "Whether he dies, he dies and if he lives, he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison or he’ll get the death penalty, but his life will no longer be the same because of his actions today." The deputy and Rodriguez were both sent to the hospital. The deputy is expected to recover.

He went back and forth with the woman—the homeowner—about letting him in to check on them, or he would get a search warrant and they couldn't enter the home until then. What happened next was like something out of a movie. There were over 30 dead dogs in the house (luckily they don't show that), and even worse, a child was living there. JUST IN: LAPD says there is no probable cause to charge the man walking around with a large blowtorch in LA with arson. He must have just been trying to light a cigarette with a massive blowtorch! The man was detained by local residents after they accused him of trying to start fires. "There was not enough probable cause to arrest this person on arson or suspicion of arson, and therefore, this person was arrested on a felony probation violation."
