Honestly, I never had anything against this scene. Sometimes a physically weak predator that is good at projecting confidence can scare off a large one temporarily. I know it's different in that the people here don't harrass the lions, but it's a similar principle imo (Cred: Human Planet).

I'm curious too! Personally, I'd season generously with salt, pepper and some herbs, like garlic and parsley (maybe some oil too). Then set it up similarly to our "cordero al palo" and let it cook slowly for 4-5 hours on a metal structure over a low-burning fire. Accompany it with some rustic potatoes, salad and/or rice, and the Lions will come back to ask for the recipe lol

the lion's fear is warranted some of the peoples in region are famed lion killers. the retreating lions might be displaying a learned behavior.

1v1? Yeah no chance (and they show it in the ep). 2v1? A little more plausible with enough harrasement. I can see why people weren't fond of this sequence, but I wasn't offended personally.

I don't know if it's a fair comparision, everything in the savannah is batshit terrified of humans. Maybe a flock of vultures or a hyena clan couldn't do the same those 3 hunters did there and the lions pride would defend their kill more fiercely.

Again, it's not like the Quetzes just scared it off right away, they harrased it and the rex actively tried to scare them off. It probably just not worth it with so much food to go around.

There's been plenty of times where a small bird harasses a larger bird enough that it leaves, either to protect a nest or steal its food. Sometimes it's not worth dealing with it. I wouldn't want to deal with an angry heron that could spear me with its face.

I would like the quetz to have that confidence. On paper, the scene sounds good, but the rex running from a few pecks looks a bit ridiculous. I have no problem with the scene, but it's funny that he runs away

I guess it also comes down to the environment. It takes place on a shore with no cover nearby. If it took place further inland, 1) Maybe the quetz's wouldn't be so effective as they'd have to be careful with the trees, and 2) The rex would probably take a break under a tree before going back.
