Knew it was bad but that filmography list was horrifying. Took one risk on a piece of actual art and it was a box office bomb and the rest is SLOP that is now also bombing at the box office.

Smashing machine is easily his best role of the last decade which shows his skill but his issue is his goal was the paycheck for longest time so he’s been type casted

The Rock's best movies were in the 2000s, he had a really creative and fun decade... when he had hair and let himself get beat up. That was his "USP" - the hero who thinks he's tough and is beat up by smaller men, women, wild animals and even the environment. I just watched The Furious as Joe Taslim takes a hell of a beating in that. That's a hero. The Rock from 2011 onwards refused to get beat up in any movie after he joined Fast 5 and started copying Vin Diesel's strategy. But a hero that doesn't suffer and nearly die in combat, only from machine errors and falls is no hero...

The Rock basically speedrunned the end of his movie career into the beginning of his inevitable political career.

The man's base salary per film is rigut around 30 million dollars. He was paid 50 million for his base salary in Red One. He named 17 films. Multiply that by $30 million...I sincerely doubt he cares if the movies are good or not.

At least the Jumanji’s will probably do well (and he’s got a Scorsese coming up), but I think the pandemic killed the exact kind of movie the Rock does. Evolve or die. And he’s, thus far, closer to the latter.

I saw this coming 5 years ago when that turd of a movie Black Adam stunk up movie theaters. He bragged about how spectacular it was nonstop, and then when it finally released, everyone saw he’s full of shit. Credibility tanked since then. And so have his films.

I just search what the payroll is on the movie. It is between $120 to $170 million. I think the movie industry has to have a payroll adjustment to make movies from top to bottom. That might means they have to move the production company to a state that has a lower cost of living. Where people who work for the production company can hire staff including actors for half the cost but they live a good life.

The Rock’s filmography isn’t great but it’s insane to ignore the Smashing Machine. He was fantastic in that and it’s the reason Scorcese casted him in his Hawaiian mob movie

He’s a fucking terrible actor! He has no range, it’s just the Rock, doesn’t matter what the role is.

The Rock is a narcissist and a very average actor.

The Jumanji movies are great. But not because of Mr Johnson.
