hook this 3D CSS card up to device rotation? sure! 👨🍳 tip: use the DevTools "Sensors" emulator with "Custom Orientation" to debug/refine before taking it to a real device 👇

Did not know about that sensor emulator, nice.

it’s a fun one, if you have an android device spare, you can plug it in and mirror the debugging to desktop over USB 🤓

can we get a @jh3yy's guide to devtools video

BRO I swear I did not even know we could do that in devtools

For a device, wouldn't it be better to just move the illusion inside?

yeah, you’re probably right, shall add a toggle for that 🙏

opens soooo many possibilities. how about a pokemon card replica?

I understand why they did it, but iOS requiring explicit user approval to access the device rotation API probably killed some fun web interactions

yeah, it’s a fun API but feels like device permissions in general are a tricky ground the geolocation one is also fun 😅

This is so cool! Definitely implementing a variant of this in my upcoming portfolio redesign 🤩

Didn’t know chromium had sensor dev tool

@dip3sh_ jus' took a video so can show it hooked up to device via USB too with screen mirror, that's a fun trick 🤙

Hmm, what if using dev server IP like in nextjs and check if sensor works, might be 🤨

@dip3sh_ as long as it's https, you're all good 🤙 you can set that up for local dev with something like mkcert

wait can you use this without asking for any permissions on the user's device?

top of mind

Wild how smooth this feels with device orientation

This one is so impressive man thanks for sharing

Take my fkn money man Take bags full of it pls

Duuude, what is this emulator 🤤

Cool

👍

Absolute Magic!

Smart! Had no idea it was there. Real device sensors need some inertia/dampening though.
