🇮🇷 🇸🇦 THE SECOND OIL CHOKEPOINT - To understand this, you have to understand the map. When Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi Arabia did not fold. They pushed oil across their own country by pipeline to Yanbu on the Red Sea and shipped it out the other side. Yanbu became the kingdom's busiest export hub, moving around 4 million barrels a day! That was door number two. On July 20 the Houthis declared a maritime ban on Saudi shipping and started hitting Yanbu and Jazan. Traffic through Bab el-Mandeb fell 56 percent in a week. Now the interpretation. This is not random escalation. It is a door-closing strategy, and it is working. They pushed oil across their own country by pipeline to Yanbu on the Red Sea and shipped it out the other side. Yanbu became the kingdom's busiest export hub, moving around 4 million barrels a day! That was door number two. On July 20 the Houthis declared a maritime ban on Saudi shipping and started hitting Yanbu and Jazan. Traffic through Bab el-Mandeb fell 56 percent in a week. Now the interpretation. This is not random escalation. It is a door-closing strategy, and it is working.
